1490T traffic map not showing traffic

Has something changed with one of the recent firmware updates?

Normally in viewing the traffic map I would see red and yellow highlights showing where there was alleged traffic congestion. Now I see nothing. I do get a warning "Traffic Ahead" and it switches to the traffic map, but there is no indication as to where the congestion is.
If I touch "Find Traffic" or "Traffic on Route" it does indicate one specific site, but no longer provides the big picture.

I've reinstalled the last update and also added any files having to do with traffic to no avail.

I've also performed a master reset.

Before reverting to a prior update I thought that I'd ask here to see if anyone else has had this experience.

I had something similar on

I had something similar on the 1490t - i was not getting traffic. I opened a support ticket with Garmin and they told me even though I had lifetime traffic something "happened" and the unit no longer had a valid traffic subscription for the traffic receiver I was using. This happened after using the update page, and I had not changed the traffic receiver. They sent me a code to enter to re-enable traffic and it started working again.

Interesting

I've recently noticed the little traffic icon (car in colored circle) has often not appeared at all (unit is plugged in, and in major metro area). I wonder if this is for the same reason, though I did not do any updates.

BobHy,

I've been suspecting the firmware update causing the exactly same symptom on my 1490T. It happened after a firmware update about half a year ago. Essentially, just as you say, the traffic data is available, but doesn't show on the traffic map. I do see those yellow/red highlights sometimes, briefly -- I don't recall exactly when, but I think it's during recalculating due to traffic. Without this, I don't know what the difference between the traffic map and normal map is.

1390 same thing

The new 1390 I just got and ran the gambit of updates also shows the Black and gray traffic map with no R/Y/G lines for traffic flow here in DFW. Am about to take it back as that was the sole reason I got it. Have driven on the roads that the website show have readings and was in the 10mph on the 70mph roads so would have expected a color on there some how.
