How do I load POI's into my Jeep nav?

I have a 2011 Jeep Wrangler that has a built in nav/sat/DVD/radio etc. system. The nav part is made by Garmin.

How do I load custom POI's into it. When I called Garmin they told to contact Jeep. Jeep told me to read the owners manual. I tried that but it makes no sense to me. When I did what it said it didn't work.

Wow, that's a great find--and great response from Garmin. If only all built-in GPS units were as user-friendly. The two big downsides to built-ins are lack of customization ability and cost of map updates (plus probably needing to go to your auto dealer to receive the update). Good for Jeep and Garmin to resolve half of my concerns about the devices.

Thanks

Thanks.

I don't own a Jeep but it appears from that forum that map updates would be fairly simple but would require a DVD version installed via the CD player in the vehicle. See http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/new-maps-1284536/

Interesting that the maps are tied to the VIN number of the vehicle, much like the maps on our Nuvi's are good only on that one GPS.

But at $150 to $200 an update, I wouldn't be getting to many of them. surprised
