I have a Nuvi 2360LMT. I downloaded new map update and for some reason not showing side streets but only a rough view of major streets in area. I used option #2 method and selected correct map on Garmin MyMaps. I tried re-loading but same thing. Any ideas or how to hard reset?
have you try going to tool and maps and retried to reconfig map display most or minimal. Might be when map updates it changed to minimal and you need to change to most display.
Is by any chance the unit zoomed all the way in?
I also notice something strange when after I d/l the update, the streets were not displaying in the menu bar as normally, only HOME until I fooled around with it and did something which I can't remember and reconfigured the unit and now everything is back to normal
same thing if I zoom in and out, no side streets
I have it set to most.
Given the information so far I'll wait before updating to version .40.
I appreciate the heads up.
Do you think they'll put out a patch? Its WYGIWYS - That's What You Get Is What You See not the more familiar what you see is what you get.
I have map version 40 on my 3490 and have not seen any issues. All is good.
Waiting for the smoke to clear is a wise move, especially with a 1490 w/ it's limited memory. Thanks!
I have exactly the same problem after downloading a new map for my Garmin nuvi 40 GPS. No side streets are visible and only major highways are shown on the new map. I have changed settings and zoom as mentioned to no avail. I see that your original problem occurred over 5 years ago. Has anyone discovered a solution or reason or cure by now? I certainly hope so, because the update has rendered my terrific GPS near useless. Thanks for your input.
... either the map hasn't been installed as you seem to just be using the basemap or you haven't selected it. What appears in settings, maps, map info or it could be settings, map & layers, myMaps?
This thread was started over 5 years ago.
Racerjerry, the map installation did not complete. Just install the map again.
sussamb ...You da' Man! Thank you very much for your quick response.
YES, under settings, map, info tab; the box denoting the downloaded map (CN North America NT 2018.30) had not been checked (my bad). One fingertip to the checkbox cured all ills.
I cannot thank you enough.
Well done, and thanks for letting folks here know that you succeeded. Stick around, there's a lot of useful stuff here and almost-always friendly folks to help you.
Glad we could help. As CraigW says, stick around, you'll always get help here when you need it
