Lost in a sea of underwhelmed

I'll make this my first post shamelessly smile
Since the US is not building new highways for the most part so even my ancient 2009 maps in my also ancient Magellan 760 seems relatively up to date and its very rare that it can't find an address. I don't get the LM update syndrome unless they deliver pizza's and need every new neighborhood development road name so I think the vast majority here can live with 5 year old maps or longer..at least I've noticed this especially with the RV. I will add though,I am shopping for a new larger screen GPS and considering a Garmin but the problem being I'm not seeing overjoyed happiness of any of the last 2 years of Garman GPS's regardless of series and few truely in depth reviews. Yes there are some standout features I'm particularly interested in such as junction views, lane assist, possibly BT etc and the fabulous POI's this site is offering.. I just can't find that standout unit. Just when I think I find one at a reasonable price that was top of the line the 1490x (but then I find many complaints concerning poor update perforance and general mapping issues) Garmin obsoletes it and moves on to another series with some of the same problems. Maybe I'm trying to hard to find that perfect unit but truthfully just a well built and well designed software which really works is what I need.
All suggestions appreciated and links followed.

Sorry for the rambling. smile

Nuvi 1690

I have a Nuvi 1690 and it has all the stuff you are interested in. I got life updates for about $59 from Amazon so that was worth it. I have had no problems with this unit what-so-ever.

Garmin 205, 260W, 1450LMT, 2460LMT, HEREwego for iPhone ... all still mapping strong.

in depth reviews

I'll certainly check out these two units. I'd also appreciate any suggestions for links to in-depth reviews.
I've actually found more info here then I've found anywhere else on the web..yes I've read the cnet, amazon and newegg user reviews which are helpful but I haven't found any good technical reviews, I think places like cnet have just gave up on gps units because of the massive constantly changing series which are really not much in the way of true changes..Garmin certainly leads the pack in confusing consumers, Magellan and TT not so much so.

Nuvi 2460LMT 2 Units

why not nuvi 2300lm

I got it for 109$ on amazon. considering that lifetime maps is about 65$ your only paying about 40$ for the unit! don't see how you can go wrong for that amount of money.
