How do I change my settings to run the interstate and not every side road?

I have just downloaded a NA map/USA and Canada 2014.10 update on Life time update plan using Garmin map updater V3.1.13. The download /install appears to have gone well BUT.... On powering up the GPS I get a "cannot authenticate maps" notice.

Do you have to use the poi loader to install red light poi or can you simplly copy and paste them?

In another thread, we've discovered that the new 2014.10 City Navigator NA map update has--at least for the nuvi 2460--installed a DxxxxxxA.jcv file and also includes a DxxxxxxA.unl file of the same filename in the jcv folder.

Earlier today I started on updating both the 855 and 3790 to 2014.10.

I would like to get a 7" size Garmin. They have a 7" 2757LM for $220 and now they have a new RV 760LM for $400. Having the RV input for size and info on areas not to travel worth the difference of $180?

I currently have the following junction view files on my Nuvi.

I know the top one is for the 2013.40 map, but what are the bottom two for? Can I remove them?

P.S.: It is okay to have the map on the SD card, but the junction view file on internal memory. Correct?

I've used Turboccc's TTS Voice Editor in the past and know how it works. My Nuvi 2460's volume is much louder than my backup Nuvi 660. The 660 sometimes is difficult for me to hear.

My question is can I edit the volume on my chosen voice(American English Jill) so that she speaks louder but still remains clear?

I see all her spoken words are as follows:

Volume= 65

By brother follows my advice, including buying the 50LM a couple weeks ago. He updated to the 2013 map without any problems using Express. Will he be able to do the same with 2014.10 without having to go to a SD card? I suppose no damage will be done if he tries the update and runs out of memory, right? Thanks.

Ever since I installed Garmin Express I have experienced nothing but headache! It would say no device is connected but it is. Or, no new updates are available but there are, or just the opposite! It would often just say reading the device or identifying the device and the icon would just swirl around and around forever until you hit something and then it would not be responding.

Time to start a thread just dealing with install issues with Garmin devices, update programs and maps version 2014.10.

I used to install one of these partial maps because the internal storage would not hold the full map, but I got an SD Card now with plenty of space. But both Garmin Express and Map Updater are still trying to get me to install the partial map.

How do I get the full map again (on the SD Card)

I installed the large JVC file to my PC. do I just copy it to my SD card

Yesterday, I put in an address indoors while walking to my car and my Nuvi 765t went into simulator mode. When I got to my car, it stated that GPS was off and it did not log on to the satellites and stayed in simulator mode. I tried shutting it off but when I turned it on, it still registered at my original location and not where I was driving.

I'm a new user to the nuvi 3597 and I'm loving it so far. One of the very small annoiances so far is that only about 5% of the built-in POIs seem to have custom icons, which I think makes the experience a little more fun. Locally, I see specific 'custom' icons for a few places like Wendys, Chase Bank and Long John Silvers.

Was wondering if someone could help me with loading multiple GPI files on my Nuvi's and Zumo's? I have a number of GPX files that I keep on my units with all the associated BMP and MP3/WAV files - and some of these are TourGuide files.

I am upgrading my old Garmin 255W to a Garmin 2555LMT. Will my old Micro SD card containing all my extra POI files fit into the new 2555LMT and work?
Hopefully I will not have to manually download my POI files onto a new Micro SD card.

I have a Nuvi 2360LM that will not locate POI's along an active route. It will only find POI's around your current location. I talked with Garmin a couple times and am not having any success in resolving the issue. Just wondering if anybody has this issue and or may have a fix.
