Map Data Layout?

I am learning a little more each day about my Nuvi 50. This little gem is a hidden choice in the menu : Settings/Map/Down Arrow. There is a lot of talk about customizing your Nuvi display. Well this feature can change what you see on the screen in a big way. The standard layout has 2 data fields on the bottom of the screen, one of which (left) can display one of 3 (Direction of Travel or Elevation or Time of Day) while not in an active route. In a route the left one can display 1 of 6 (Those 3 or Arrival Time or Distance or Time to Destination).

While using the More Data Layout option the map screen shrinks to 4" so there is a small price to pay for this additional information. So even the "Essential Series" has a few bells and whistles. grin

More Data Layout Options

Of the 4 data boxes displayed on the right of the map you can change the top 3, to 1 of any 3 (No Route)or 6 (Active Route) data values by pressing the box and choosing the type of data you want displayed.

.

My 3790 also has an option for waypoint arrival times.

Nonetheless, very nice to see.
