on a recent visit saw a device that plugged to the obd2 reader and worked with 1490lmt to give a more accurate information about vechicle economy. tried to find it, no luck, no luck.........help where ,when, price.

Mucho thanks from rainy Canada, not only Calgary but also here on the east coast.Tried to purhase device but every time I change country to Canada it does not list it,but it is there on US country. Find garmin site not to friendly to use.

While in Arizona as I was driving the back roads my car came to a sudden stop. It would not go but the motor was running. I checked with my Garmin OBD and saw that it was the transaxel. The shop was amazed and we dealt with that problem.

Did the Garmin OBD actually display it was the transaxel at fault or just a code?
I have used an OBD tester, after diagnostic testing it only showed code(s) that were defective.
I then had to check the manual that came with the unit to see what the numerical codes were and what components were faulty.
That would really be an asset if the Garmins OBD tester had the codes and their meaning in the software and was able to display them.

It displayed two codes and when I hit each they told what it meant. One code affected the other. It basically told me where to look.

Phew wish I kept my mouth shut, rain stopped, sun came out. Last 4 days temp wow, 5pm last night(16 july) 102f, in Canada???????. Snow last week, same next week. thanks again.

They are all the same unit, just different prices as they come from different suppliers. Buy the cheapest one.
