Added support for the new HD Weather feature when using compatible HD Traffic cables. The feature is only available in areas where HD Traffic is available. In order to view localized text for this feature, you must download the latest translations.
Added support for the Environmental Zones feature for areas where the appropriate map data is available.
Improved route comparison logic for alternate routes on the Traffic page.

Added support for playing different audio tones to differentiate between static safety cameras and mobile safety cameras.
Added city, state, and country names to the points of interest search results list, where applicable.
Added Audio Mixer support to control the volume of speech recognition phrases. The Audio Mixer is only available when paired to a phone in hands-free mode.
Fixed an issue that prevented certain location formats from working correctly on the coordinates search page.
Fixed an issue that prevented certain routes from calculating correctly in Russia.
Fixed an issue where all Smartphone Link apps were available on the Apps page after deleting the phone pairing from the Bluetooth page.
Fixed an issue that caused the external power lost countdown message to display after the device had exited sleep mode.
Fixed an issue that prevented subcategories from displaying in the Michelin Green guide.
Fixed issues found in the Up Ahead feature.

3.2 Update

Thanks for the 3.2 update alert for my 2797. Noted they did something with the BT volume so hope to test it today, and will report back results.

Will garmin auto alert registered users when an update is available for a particular nuvi? Can't find option on their site. Depend on POI Factory folks for alert.

I keep this as a favorite on my computer and check it often. http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=5949

It also should be noted I had to use Dashboard to install the update because of a Webupdater problem. That resulted in finding another voice file called American Jack (Speaks Garmin Real Directions)TTS3 AT 24.8 MB FILE SIZE. It didn't show in Webupdater.

By all means let us know your results on the BT volume.

Thanks for the info re

Thanks for the info re 'favorites' ; I will periodically Chk the file now.

I used web updater w/o problem. Wasn't aware American jack can be used with real directions. Used to use that voice on all my previous units but now gotten used to Samantha with the 2797. Still will upload amer jack just to keep on hand. Will have to look at the dashboard procedure next time. Any idea why jack would be avail on dashboard but not on web updater?

"Real Voice Jack" has been around for a short time. It appears to have come out June 12:

When I first saw not only the number of voices, but the number of voice engines and voice formats being used now by Garmin, I worried that the company may eventually have issues of complexity that makes it difficult for them to cope--just as the company has so many automotive GPS devices, most of which are discontinued now, that it's hard for them to make sure that future updates will work on the plethora of devices that the update is intended to work with.

This finding--plus charlesd45's finding that his nuvi 2597 has a Michelle voice that seems to have appeared out of nowhere and can't be found on the web--that dashboard shows new voice updates for the nuvi xxx7 series while WebUpdater does not tends to confirm my reasons for worrying that Garmin is having trouble keeping track of how to handle updates.

Or

Or the first indication that Garmin is in the process of dropping support for Webupdater and forcing us to use either myDashboard or Garmin Express.

Now there's a bad thought.

Just how do you find these things?!

It's strange that this web page does not say she's also a Garmin GPS voice.

Just doing web searches

Just doing web searches using Bing most of the time.

Quick Test Results re 3.2 on the 2797

Hardly scientific, but noticed via a quickie test today:

1. RLC orig alert tone (via POI Factory) much louder than before. Estimate at least 50%.

2. Incoming BT call slightly louder than original but still poor quality and connectivity issue: need to press the 'handset button' several times to hear/speak to person on other end.

3. Outgoing BT call is louder est. 50% or so. Sound quality a little better than originally. Still same connectivity issue: can't hear or speak to other end unless I press the 'handset button' several times.

All of above noticed without any settings changes.

Interested to hear others' test runs.

I love my Garmin Nuvi 2797LMT, updates were needed!!

It's about time these updates were finally released. I love the 2797LMT very much but I think more are needed especially for the iPhone Garmin Smart Link app which connects to this device for traffic, weather, parking, etc. but this is a good start. As usual, Garmin releases products before they are fully developed and stable. What a shame.

3.2 Update

You are right on and that is what will ultimately do in Garmin in light of the major competition from smart phone nav apps. Hate to say it but on my next allowable phone upgrade I plan to get a Galaxy S4 whose nav app is arguably better than any garmin - based on my limited 'play time' with a friend's S4.

Traffic Warning Volume Increase after 3.2

Just noticed on my 2797, after the update to 3.2, that the traffic alert voice comes on now really loud, compared to just loud enough on the 2.8. Actually it is a bit scary when out of the blue the voice yells at you: "TRAFFIC AHEAD". My settings: master volume at 60; Mixer Nav at 60%, Mixer Phone at 100%. Anyone else have this 'issue'? Any way to reduce that specific volume?
