Speed camera with garmin using garmin's app

Garmin now has red light camera service with their garmin app. Have anyone tried this in compared to the ones on poi factory?

Are you referring to the Cyclops Safety Camera software?

.

I continue to trust the redlight camera database here at POI Factory over anything else out there, even over Garmin's paid services.

If you like you can try it out for free and see what you think of it. The only way you can update it after the 30 day trial is to buy the subscription. It puts a POI file in your Nuvi. If you try it and decide you don't like it just detete the file.
I myself use POI Factory camera files.

Get it here:
Under "Version" click the down arrow to reveal the "download free trial".

I'll stick with the factories over others.

Garmin: fixed alert distance

One BIG drawback (IMO) to using these Garmin-branded POIs is that the alert distance is NOT configurable. Last time I tried them, they were fixed at 1/8 mile (660 ft). For me personally, that is too short of an alert distance and you cannot change it.

I agree, 660 ft is too short. I also don't like you are not able to add your own alert sound.

I did try it but removed it due to the limitations.

I agree...

the POIF database appears to be the most complete and accurate.
