Garmin talk

While trying to send to GPS using Google Maps Garmin wants to update their communicator software.
Looks like Garmin has screwed up again, Firefox 23.0.1 & Garmin Communicator 4.0.4.0 install just keeps looping installing.

Tried it in IE 9 and it works OK.

Has anybody pulled the trigger on the new RV 760?

I am very interested in this unit and just wondered if anyone has picked one up and started putting it through it's paces.

This might be at the top of my Christmas List!

I seem to remember reading somewhere in the promotional materials that the 2597 will learn the routes that I like to take? I know that during rush hour, the route it tells me to take is generally slower, not due to traffic (so the traffic receiver isn't helpful) but just because of the timing of the lights.

I recently bought Nuvi 3597. It does stange routing some times. For example, My house on Crescent and it is on the second end of the Crescent. Some days Nuvi will direct me to take the first end of the Crescent and go all the way round to my house instead of asking me to turn on the next one.

Hallo, my first post here and i question is about a small problem with my older Nuvi 300.

I cant get it to read the memory card.
The memory card is a SD 2gb.
I have tried to put a Gpi file on the card but i cant see the information on the card in my nuvi.

Dear ol' Dad just picked up a new 2595 from Costco and brought it over for me to do all of the updates, etc. for it. First thing I noticed was that it was set up in a different language, and I don't think it was even a Latin-based one. Lots of "fun" getting it set back to English.

I've successfully loaded maps on an SD card. How do I get the Nuvi to read the maps from the SD Card instead of the partial map from the internal memory?

I downloaded the software needed to transfer to my Garmin 660 GPS. On my computer I can see that they are loaded in my Garmin GPS, but when I turn on my GPS, where do I go to see them? How do I search for the hundreds of dealerships that were loaded?

I have a 660 and a 885 garmin. on my 660 when I have the gps on and not navigating it always tells me what street i'm coming up to, can I get my 885 to do this?

I want to replace a gpx folder in my nuvi with an updated gpx folder. when I open the gpx file folder stored on my nuvi it currently has an archive folder, lpt file, current 1 gpx folder, and a current gpx file. do I have to delete any of the files or folders I've listed before I install the new ones with poi loader? it's been quite some time since I've done this and don't want to mess it up.

I recently downloaded updated maps on my Garmin Nuvi 750. After I did this the Garmin kept showing Illinois as my location, even though I'm in St. Louis, Mo. I changed the location to St. Louis manually, but all my POI's are in Illilnois. Can anyone tell me if there is a fix for this?

I can not get my GPSmap 62stc to recognize POI's in Japan from the EXTRAS file. I have manually entered them in and also have loaded the POI file "Japan(GPX)" from POI Factory using the POI loader. In neither case will they show up in the EXTRA file. When I manually entered them they were intermingled with other POI points and entered as a CSV file.

I noticed this weekend while using my 2757 with a GTM 60 traffic anttena in Toronto, I am getting detailed traffic alerts. These are different to the ones I got with my 2460. For instance "Samantha" did say "broken down car reported ahead". I also get alerted to construcion zones ahead with a delay time. I think we are getting HD traffic in the GTA.

I just bought the new Nüvi 3597 which seems very impressing so far. But the thing is that I drive around in a very noisy open sportscar and simply just want to turn up the volume of my new Garmin 3597 which max volume is far too low and unfortunately not equipped with an external speaker slot (God knows why..!!)

I noticed that as I'm driving on my 2597, there are icons that show gas, food, etc. On some of these, there are custom logos so I know what brand of gas, what restaurant, etc. is the one near me. Is there a way to get more logos and apply them to these POIs? Obviously an exhaustive logo pack would be too big, but even if I can get just a few for my favorite places to eat would be good!

I just still have this question.
I have Nuvi 200W with main board S4 with firmware 7.60 map version 2014.10.
I want to know if there is any hack for nuvi 200W to enable junction view, highway mode, lane guide and TTS functions, or even just TTS which speaks street names will be great. But if I install 205W firmware will I brick my nuvi?
Please let me know.

I just purchased a new nuvi 2555lmt. When I hook it up to my PC using the micro usb the PC sees it as a portable device but does not assign drive letters.
I can access the garmin drive as I could the C:/ drive.
But Mapsource or POI Loader won't find the drive because of no drive letter assigned.
