Map Search Feature Conflict

My friend who has a 2595LMT bought the CN Europe 2014.20 from Garmin. He is planning a trip this fall to Europe.
He has CN North America 2014.20 on his 2595 that includes North America, Mexico, and some Caribbean Islands.
The Nuvi recognizes both maps and they are checked in the map info page.

Experimenting with the Euro map we found a problem with France. When changing country to France, we were unable to type in a city, All other Europe countries displayed the ability to type in city. France showed to type in State or Province. Looking up the provinces of France and entering them still displayed "no results found".

We then put the SD card in my 2460LMT and it behaved the same. Then I remembered reading some time ago that somebody with a South America map also had a search problem. The reason was the South America map also had the state of Florida which with double coverage caused the search to malfunction.

Looking at the Euro map coverage, it showed it contained French territories in the Caribbean. Those were Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Barthelemy, and French Guiana. These 4 islands are also on the full CN North America map. This created the search conflict for France.

We were able to find a simple solution, by unchecking the CN North America 2014.20 now allowed us to search France and enter a city. Lesson learned, whenever you go to another continent that you have a map for, uncheck all other maps so the search feature performs properly.
