I've had a Nuvi 1450 w/ Lifetime maps for over three years and it does everything I want a GPSr to do. It has served me well, and I'm not interested in any other bells and whistles.
My brother-in-law would like me to get him a similar GPSr. Again, he doesn't need or want anything more than what my 1450 has. Obviously, the 1450 is at the end of its lifecycle so I'm investigating follow-on Nuvis with what now are just barebones functions. It seems that the Nuvi 54LM fits that bill. The price is right and it looks like it doesn't do more than what he'd like it to.
My questions: Does anyone here at the factory have first hand knowledge about the 54LM, and if so, what are your opinions about it?
