I would like to know what the absolute "Best" / "Top of the Line" Garmin automotive unit is right now?

It seems that Garmin isn't putting out as many new models as they used to.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I am new to this.

I have just purchased a new Drive 5 plus (to replace my old Nuvi).

The warning 'Bong' when I exceed the speed limit or when approaching speed cameras etc, is very quiet (compared to my old Nuvi).
I have all the volumes set at max. The voices are all fine....just the warning 'bongs'

I read through the license for the Lifetime Maps Updates and was surprised that a Garmin unit will lose its Lifetime Map License if it has been over 2 years since the last map update.

I did the most recent software update for my Drivesmart 86. Now I have (2) white oblong 'backlights' coming from the back of the screen at both bottom corners. Not bright enough that I can't read the screen, but still something I haven't seen before and wanted to make sure that I don't have a problem with the 86 going bad.

sorry I've not been here for very long time, but one of the things I learnt from you clever fellows was how to personalise the splash screen on my Nuvi 310. (I put my name and address on mine).

As I have moved house I would like to change the screen on my Nuvi, but I've racked my brains, googled my fingers off and I can't figure out how I did it.

I have two units a Garmin Drive 52 and a DriveSmart 5. The Drive 52 responds quickly to screen input. The DriveSmart 5 is very sluggish. Sometimes it freezes. Other times it is very slow to respond to screen input (30 seconds or more). At times it responds better to input from a stylus rather than my finger. The unit is a few years old, and I had the battery changed by a service center.

Lane assist with junction view (displays junction signs) DOES NOT WORK 99% of the time. I Upgraded ha) from a 760, the LA worked 99% of the time even with small junctions.

I just got an email about the new 7" Garmin with a DriveCam and Navigation functions. $449.99 seems steep. Are there any takers?

I did a dumb thing. I somehow uninstalled Extra POI Editor.

I wasn't perfect, but it still worked.

Does anyone have a link where I could download it?

This is very curious and I wonder what your thoughts are. There's an eBay seller whose seller name starts with likenew... offering many used Garmin devices for sale. Right now, there appear to be 51 Garmin GPS auctions offered, some auctions with multiple units listed. The seller has feedback of over 7000 and has been on eBay since 2012.

On a recent drive across Pennsylvania, I experienced a navigation error with my Driveluxe 51 that I have never seen before. I left Pittsburgh and used the "Home" option to create a route to my home location just east of Scranton.

I'm about to pull my old 3490LMT off the shelf and use it on a new electric scooter. With that said, I will not be plugging into any cigarette lighter so was wondering what the usual battery life is supposed to be on this unit? It's the original battery (going on 10 years) so maybe I should replace it for good measure.

I had been using Turbo CC, but it now constantly comes up with script error. I did a search for an alternative and found POI Editor.com.

Is anyone familiar with it?

It is free, so that is a plus.

Hi, I made a mistake, I lent my etrex 20, it came back with the file directoy deleted, so I need a copy of the file directory for the extrex 20... I woundering if there was someone who would be able to email the files to me at 2020ewen@gmail.com

I've posted a couple times about our Nuvi 660 not working correctly with latest few maps.... Here is an update....

History... Last few updates have not installed correctly... Instead of asking for a Quadrant of NA to be selected, It loaded entire NA onto SD card, that exceeds size of what 660 can read (even with corrected names applied)... so map would not load...

I'm pretty new in the todays GPS World and switched just recently from a Garmin GPS 12 to a Garmin DriveSmart 76.

I'm tying to overlay a custom JPG on my GPS but it doesn't seem to work.
