Do u need to have garmin connected to wifi to receive free traffic updates?

when I launch POI Loader 273 it tells me to uninstall (same page) which I have to, when I launch it again it re-installs and I can use it only once. I have to go thru this every time.
Has anyone else experience this or have a remedy?

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone that has had a positive experience getting proximity alerts working for custom points. I've tried every tool that Garmin provides, placed legal values in the "Proximity" fields, created valid .gpx/.gpi files that were saved initially to my PC, then moved to the appropriate locations on my unit.

Does Garmin ever update the POI's that come with their products?

I have a DriveSmart61 and want to hard wire the power into my car. When I cut the power cord I found in the standard power cord 3 wires...Red>Black>White. I know what the red and blacker for but have no idea what the white wire is for.

I have being using EPE for years to remove duplication from POI files as well as converting files to different formats.

Recently, the column data changed and I have attempted to correct this to my desired information but I am having no success . Previously, if a problem occurred , I was able to reinstall a download version of the EPE, but this download is no longer available.

I'm looking for a mass POI editor. Something that would allow me to view and edit all my POIs in a flat file such as Excel or CSV.

Each row in the table would be a POI record, and there would be columns for Name, Phone, Categories (comma separated), Symbol, Latitude, Longitude.

Looks like the dedicated GPS is not dead yet.

I have discovered by Trial and Error that when uploading a route, or creating a route, that you cannot have more that 29 Vias.

Years ago I created some routes for my trip on Rte66 in Delorme Street Atlas. I had to use a lot of bias to stay on the true route. I have converted these Delorme files to GPX XML and loaded one state file and waypoints to my 3597.

What is the latest Garmin map that will work without any problems on my Streetpilot 7200?

some of you might already know me for some old mods of TomTom devices and for the iPhone unlock program ZiPhone.

Anyway, I am here to find people who know well the GCD format.
Unfortunately the only tool I could find until now is RGN_Tool by turboccc (who apparently left the scene).

I got a refurb'ed Nuvi 2598LMT for N.A. 5-6 years ago.
After too many issues with Garmin Express back then, I always used MapUpdater, no problems.
I tried MapUpdater yesterday for the 1st time in years (new car has in-dash), it ended-up hooking me into Express.

Software version updated fine NP.
However it shows I have a free update for Europe but a "Pricing" button for N.A.

Just got a smartphone and I'm playing around with the features on here. So far, I've run into a few issues:

1. Parking Services is supposed to show you parking fees on the GPS unit, but I can only see them on the app. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I really want to protect my screen; I keep it in my coat pocket or have the Garmin Backpack tether (really handy!) and when I set down my backpack the screen may touch the ground.

I'd like to have a glass protector but I checked with Zagg and Phantom glass, they don't have anything in that size. Do you guys have any recommendations? I would rather stay away from the peel type.

I have just bought a new Drive Smart 61 and are trying to plan a custom trip to the USA.
So far I have plotted the waypoints in Google My Maps and have the drive directions route done.
Saved it as a KMZ and converted to a GMX with GPS Visualizer.

Many of us still use Streets & Trips, despite the fact that Microsoft stopped supporting this, years ago. That's because we like some of the trip planning tools, in S&T.

I would like to get some of the features that you would like to see in Basecamp, that perhaps have been inspired by your experience with S&T.

So i was able to add pois to Paccar petrbilt system.. It showed on screen installing pois but tells me restart gps and everything goes well but i cant find extras folder.. Please help..

Drive on HI-30 Should be Turn right onto HI-30/HI-3000, GPS told me to turn left onto HI-3000, which is impossible on left ONLY road, after I did a right turn into continuing on HI-30, then it told me to make a U-turn to drive into a wrong direction.

Has anyone ever loaded pois onto a Paccar Navsmart Gps system. These systems are usually in kenworth or Peterbilt trucks. The mapping is Garmin based; Thanks for any replies
