Garmin Venture oddity

Anyone ever had this happen?

Few years ago, I was traveling through WV at dawn, on I-64. The highway was empty. The Venture was set to display the 'highway' graphic view. At one point, I notice a vehicle coming towards us on the display. Sure enough, there was one vehicle traveling west as I was traveling east. As it passed my window, it passed us on the gps.

Maybe, 20 miles further down the road, I saw another vehicle on the gps. It was motionless as I drove further, east towards it. I look out my driver side window and saw the pickup truck parked in a lot, alongside the interstate. There it was on the gps, shown as a vehicle that I was driving past.

Haven't seen it before, or ever again. I wrote to Garmin and they replied that it was impossible. Well, not quite impossible, Garmin, because I saw it and my wife witnessed it.

The trucks were probably equipped with gps tracking meant for company use. But I thought it strange that I would see them on my Venture.

I'm just curious. Anyone ever experience something like this?

No, not kidding

No, it was a genuine question. I'm wondering if there have been any others who have had this happen. It only happened on a Garmin Venture.

Not that exact thing, but my

Not that exact thing, but my Nuvi would do strange things and then stop. By strange I mean something like the steps to enter an address would change and then several days later pop back to what it had been. About 8 years ago I was on a business trip to Cleveland and suddenly all the buildings were in 3-D. By next morning it was back to 2-D.

I kind of figure they choose random places to test things out without informing us.

I have no idea...

...how that could happen. The GPS is only receiving information that is already loaded into it; roads, street names, cities, etc. How those vehicles got there, is, well; phenomenal. confused
