Driving down the freeway with my Nuvi 360 I have a hard time with the bluetooth being not loud enough. I noticed that if I put in a headphone jack the instructions and tones come through the headphones. So my thought is trying an external speaker. has anyone else tried that.

I uploaded mutiple POI files, each of them sits in a separate sub folder. I've read that the sub folder name becomes the category name when it gets uploaded. But when I did it today, some category names were correctly following the sub folder name, but some category names were the name of POI files but NOT sub folder name.
Why is this happening? Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong?

I tested it on my 750 and it works perfectly. I finally got rid of the annoying "recalculating"!!

I just got a Nag Screen to update the map on my Nuvi 350 since it was over a year old. Am I going to see this junk screen every time I start the unit ? If so is there a way to get around the screen by deleting a file ?

hello i have a question i installed alot of poi and sound on my garmin 760 now i see tourguide in my 760 i have no idea how it got there what is it?

I've got a problem that hasn't adequately been addressed by Garmin tech support via email. I have a nuvi 760 and purchased and installed the 2009 map update. Maps were fine on both the nuvi and Mapsource, could transfer waypoints, routes, etc. Everything was fine for months.

Hello everyone, I'm new to this site and also GPS systems. I was wondering if there is a way to switch the height at which a POI becomes visible on my screen. I have the nuvi 200w. I have downloaded a bunch of POI such as lighthouses, waterfalls, cliffs and such (I'm a photographer)and 300 or so ft. is too close for just driving around looking for places to shoot. I'd prefer at least 800 ft.

Ok So I get annoyed by the garmin telling me directions, but I would like sound notifications for stuff like red cameras. is there a way I can just turn off the voice for turn by turn directions?

I recently updated my Zumo to the newest 2009 map updates and now when I am being directed, the Zumo does not speak the roads anymore. Is this coincidence and I messed up a setting or is this something from the update?

Anybody know what is the Max amount of POI 's a 660 can hold without a SD Card ?

I went to Gary Haymans web site Garman Tips & Tricks.
In there he talks about code words and he would tell you what they are but he never does, Anybody know what the code words are for a POI ?

I just downloaded several alert sounds from the library, to use with corresponding custom POIs that didn't come with sound files. Since the mp3 sound files I downloaded usually had a slightly different file name than the csv or gpx file, I changed the name (but not the extension) to correspond exactly. I then made sure that both files were in the same folder on my computer.

I tried to use my Garmin car charger for the first time only to discover it didn't work. I have had it since Xmas, but until this past weekend, always ran it off batteries. SO I called Garmin last night and they are sending out a new one (about 18 minutes on hold). Great.

I was traveling down I-95 this morning when all of a sudden my 660 started to tell me that there was a 21 min delay up ahead, I never heard it say anything about the traffic like that except for the little yellow box on the right hand side with the number inside. Did I turn something on and not know it?

I am trying to upload speed and redlight POI onto my nuvi760.
I think I know what to do redlight camera POI. one redlight POI file, one alert sound, one icon in a folder with the same name and use POI loader to upload it.
But for speed camera POI, I see bunch of icons and sound files on the download page. (http://www.poi-factory.com/node/7908)

I'm a newbie trying to play with POI files on my new Garmin Nuvi 200. After creating a folder including the cvs file plus an icon and an alert sharing the same file name (but different extensions), I uploaded it to the unit. However, whenever I approach a target, only the icon shows up without the alert. Is this because Nuvi 200 does not have the capability of playing sound files?

I just bought a new Garmin nuvi 260w to replace my old Garmin c340. Is there a way to transfer my "favotites" file from the c340 to the nuvi?

PS: The c340 still works fine, I just wanted to update to a newer model.

i drove through an area where there were 2 traffic lights with cameras and my Nuvi 760 and 680 kept sounding the alert 10 times. is there a way to make it sound off only one time when approaching the camera ?

So i am pretty new at this POI stuff. I did read the FAQ, did read the Garmin FAQ, did read the "How do I load custom sound alerts...". I read and read and read.

I have a Nuvi 200.

This is what I did:

1) Download lastest POI loader from Garmin site.
2) Download sox.exe and place it in program files/garmin directory (poiloader originally prompted me for this location).
