i drove through an area where there were 2 traffic lights with cameras and my Nuvi 760 and 680 kept sounding the alert 10 times. is there a way to make it sound off only one time when approaching the camera ?

Is the audio alert the default or a custom alert? At least on the 660, there is a setting under Proximity-Points/Alerts-Change/Audio, that allows you to choose between "Single Tone", "Continuous-Speed Alerts", and "Continuous-All Alerts". It has been posted, that these settings do nothing for custom audio alerts, but it has always been thought that they probably work with the defaults. Also, any stop and re-start while waiting for a light change will cause another alert. And, a second alert seems to occur when you pass through the intersection of the alert, perhaps for a brief instant you are on a new street (the cross street that also has a redlight alert (the same POI -- new street).

It can be really annoying to keep hear it going off. Some times I just want to shout at the GPS "I KNOW ALREADY!" And yes, I have found that most systems will not change the proximity alerts on custom POIs. You just might have to get used to it like I had to. The price we pay for our toys.
