Congratulations, your traffic receiver is alive and well.

The little yellow box along the right side of the screen is a traffic alert. Touch it to bring up a traffic alert screen with more details.

(I get to see this most afternoons driving home, when it tells me there's slow traffic ahead as I'm in stop and go traffic on the freeway.)

Like k6rtm mentioned, the 660 comes with a traffic receiver. The traffic receiver is integrated into the cigarette lighter adapter. With the 660 you get a free three month traffic subscription. After that, you have to pay to receive traffic alerts.

My 760 has never spoke to me about traffic alerts. Just the little icon in the lower right corner.
Do I need to turn something on to get it to talk to me about traffic?

Mine has alerted me with significant traffics issues... when it works. Mine functions sporadically at best. I've tried all the tips and tricks discussed in other threads, but it still seems to work just when it wants to. I really like the feature, but I doubt I'll renew when the current subscription expires in 2009. Just too finicky.

I have a 780 with MSN Direct. I live in Atlanta.. so plenty of action daily on the traffic.

I notice that when I am in navigation mode, I get the box in the lower right with the delay in minutes. I do not receive voice details when in navigation mode. I can touch the box to get more detailed information, however the GPS will try to route around the delay if significant (sometimes eliminating the delay).

However if I am in map mode, I have received voice details. For example I had two just today.... Slow traffic in two miles and Accident in 5 miles.

Now that I think about it, I can't remember ever getting a voice traffic alert outside of map mode...

Anyone else notice that?
