Just got back from 25 day - 5435 mile vacation trip to the Canadian Maritimes traveling in 3 Provinces, 15 States and Wash. DC.
Averaged 27.82 MPG in my 2008 Taurus overall. That included local travel during stops and tours.
Highest price I paid for gas was $4.729 on Nova Scotia (prices & gallons converted to US measurements) and the lowest I paid was $3.349 in Florence, SC yesterday.

Highlights of the trip - visiting Prince Edward Edward Island for the first time - wonderful scenery, people and food. Fog & rain in Nova Scotia dampened our visit but we had been there before.
Bar Harbor, ME was delightful for 2 days and a repeat visit to Gettysburg after 27 years.
While in NH my "kids" threw a surprise 75th B'day get together for me even tho it was 3 weeks before.

All in all a great trip !

Found a few problems with the maps & directions of my 1490 but I had written them up previously and posted here.

Used the Garmin today to locate a new customer's plant. I would have never found it without the GPS! Not a single road went straight there -- it was more like a maze getting in and out of there.

Took the kiddos up to Delaware, who will be staying with my in-laws for a few days.

Anybody know of any public beaches that I can take a bus load to?

Weekend in Buffalo Texas. Ranch has 120 acres and an abundance of deer. The deer will stop and look at the 4 wheeler and if you stop they watch you for at least 5 minutes before they move on to the next grazing area. Must have seen 5 herds of 6 to 10 all over the area. They must know it's not deer hunting season.

My daughter lives in Buffalo,Tx. My son-in-law has several hundred acre there. I am waiting for deer season to open so I can go on first day of hunting.

Went to a friends kids wedding at some country club out in the boonies. Gps made it easy going and coming back.

Hot Muggy over the weekend in DC ..!!

Used the Nuvi to get us from Las Vegas to Zion National Park, then Bryce Canyon, and then North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Nuvi went totally nuts on the last leg on Highway 67 coming down to the North Rim. Unbelievably incessant recalculating, make a u-turn, take unpaved forest roads, everything but the one single highway that went to the park entrance. Turns out that all the map services have Hwy 67 marked as seasonally closed until June 1. It actually opens May 15. We were driving it on May 25.

Used my Etrex Venture to log track while doing a 5 mile hike in the ghost town and associated trails.

North Carolina... went to hook up with an old friend. Had a great 2 days there. Took all back roads there and back thanks to my Zumo.

I found a weekend Strawberry Festival in Maryland.

Made a trip south and back north yesterday. We had a strong storm with torrential rains on the northbound trip. Traffic slowed to sensible speeds, sometimes to 5-10 mph on I-95. Lots of vehicles pulled over on the shoulder - pluses and minuses to that choice, but we decided to continue moving.

Navigation devices (Android navigation and Nuvi 760) both performed well. Interesting trip, and safely completed.

We are planning a trip to the Outer Banks in August. Trying to decide if I want to update the maps on my 250W. I still have the original maps on there from 2007 I think.

Just took a trip down to Sea World with the kids. Had a good time and wasn't too busy. Fun times.

Last week I went 250 miles to east Texas. Garmin routed me ok going over, but on the return it wanted to take me all around Texas. Not sure where it gets its instructions from.

Just got back from a fantastic fishing trip to Lost Lake in Lac Seul Lake in Ontario.

42" Northern and 27" walleye...Just great fishing up there.

Stayed at the Lost Island Lodge, hated to leave. Love the staff there, really treat you good.

Chicago to New Jersey. Love the 3790 3-d terrain view through the mountains.

George Washington's homesite at My. Vernon, VA

Just got back. It was very nice.

Drove into DC for a site visit on Friday, but had to take a major detour to avoid road closures near the Pentagon that morning. My updated maps now show the correct routing of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge as well as the new development National Harbor on the MD side.

My weekend was nice but short

developments in MD are going faster than new GPS maps being released....

Today I was in pursuit of a new mounting bracket for the DirecTV dish used with the RV. I used the Garmin to do a Google search for DirecTV, and it found 2 dealers that were close to us. Called the closest one, and he had the part. The Garmin then took me directly to the store, and back to the park.

Was a short trip but the traffic receiver saved us a lot of frustration! The GPS rerouted us on the return trip and we avoided a 17 mile stretch of interstate parking lot! Way to go Garmin 765T!

Just came back from Luray, Va. Came back home after two days of what was supposed to be a six day motorcycle ride due to bad weather!

Just got back from a long weekend in the the hot sun. We had a great time at the pool, beach and resturants. The nuvi got us around Atlanta traffic on the way home.

Just got back from a 10 day trip. New York to Myrtle Beach was the first leg of the trip.
My 3790 worked great. It found all of the restaurants and attractions we wanted to visit. Lots of Junction Views available. Just hope Garmin fixes the JV display problem soon so my top-of-the-line GPS would work properly.
The trip continued from Myrtle Beach to Woodstock GA for a wedding. The GPS found the church, the reception, and the hotel with no problem.
The next day was spending time with my son and daughter-in-law traveling around North GA, and then on to Fort Mill SC to visit more family. The cheapest gas is in SC at $3.39.
Finally back home after 2500 miles. My 3790 did a great job. No lockups or freezes. I question one of the routes in GA that kept me on Route 20 going through towns on a Saturday afternoon when route 400 would have been faster.
All in all, another successful trip with my Garmin.

I use my GPS mostly within new-to-me cities.

Right now it' getting a workout in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

My last trip with my Garmin 1390T was to Philadelphia.

It was very useful. It got confused downtown with all the tall buildings.

There were 2 others with me who had cell phones and claiming they were better, however, they too had the same issues in the same places. Those tall buildings cause all GPS devices to have issues.

This is where external antenna's make a huge difference.
