SD card and POIs
Newbie post and newbie question
I've read a good bit about POIs here and elsewhere. Many refer to POIs with a file extension of ".gpi" When mounting Nuvi 260 on IMac (10.4.11) I am unable to find "gpi" files or folder. However, I have found gpx folder/file and successfully loaded new waypoints as ".gpx" files. They appear on the Nuvi 260 under "Favorites". Where are the .gpi files?

Bobcat route question...
Hi fellow Mac users,
Is there a way to "manually alter" the route Bobcat generates?
In my route, I have a choice of two highways to reach my destination and Bobcat is choosing the one I don't want to use. What I'd like to do is drag the route from one highway to the other highway. Is there a way to accomplish this feat?

Program for CSV files
I have used AppleWorks for many years. With Apple no longer supporting it I have looked for other programs to use. I am running Leopard.
I bought Bento for database use and have found a nice spreadsheet program called "Tables". It is not expensive and one of its Export options is very nice. It exports as CSV.

No "Extras" in "Points of Interest"
I have been working with the POI install. No matter how I set it up, after I load them I am unable to find the "Extras" under "Points of Interest". The last one is "Auto Services".
I am loading from a "POI" folder on my Desktop with same named files in same name folder. I load all the non-proximity files by "Express" and load the proximity one by "Manual".

Has anyone tried a bluetooth adapter for the iPOD Touch and connected to a bluetooth-enabled GPS receiver to see if GPS navigation works?
If so, what components were used?
Was the iPOD Touch map utility used?

Hi Fellow Mac users,
I've been told that Garmin will be releasing mapping software, that will be totally Mac compatible.
From Garmin's website:

We're pleased to announce that Garmin will be releasing some of our high volume mapping products in native Mac format, starting with City Navigator North America 2008 and City Navigator Europe 2008.

Boosting The Volume Of Sound Files (Mac Version)
Boosting The Volume Of Sound Files (Mac Version)
(1). High-lite the mp3 file in question that you already have saved and run it so that iTunes opens for you.
(2). From the FILE MENU GO TO: GET INFO
(3). Then slide over to the OPTIONS
(4). With the OPTIONS open you should see a VOLUME
ADJUSTMENT SLIDER or you can select one of the
EQUALIZER PRESETS, (or use both adjustments).

Bobcat Info
Here is the link to the Bobcat thingy.
http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3885
Some observations:
1 - It's beta software.
2 - It uses Garmin Maps. But to use a Garmin map on your Mac you need a PC with Windoze to convert the dang thing. Nothing new here.
3 - You need an intel based Mac.
So, I ask. What's the big friggin deal.

What will "Bobcat" be?
The Garmin Mac blog says an exciting new product "Bobcat" will be announced at MacWorld next week. I wonder what it will be? It also sounds like more Mac-compatible software is on its way.

querying "custom POIs"
Good day. I installed a car dealership ".csv" from my iMac to my Nuvi250. I finally figured how to find them and they come up in a list from closest to furthest from my home location.
If I install the RestAreas.csv will the two lists be intermingled in my custom POIs listing or is there a way to separate them from each other?
Converting .gpx files on Mac?
Has anyone found a good, cheap and easy to convert .gpx file to the TomTom .ov2 format? I currently use the online .cvs to .ov2 converter(from TomTom) which works fine, but it won't do .gpx!
