iPhone firmware update seems to fix bluetooth problem

Hi All,

Apple released v1.1.4 firmware for the iPhone and the dropped Bluetooth connection problem, looks like it's been fixed.

A Welcome Fix

I was very happy to see that fix posted yesterday. The Bluetooth is one of the features that I like best about the GPS. The iPhone does a good job with the address book and call history. Nice to have it working again.

iPhone Bluetooth

Just got a c550. It wouldn't pair with my iPhone. I downloaded the Bluetooth radio update from Garmin's site and all features are working (address book, recent calls, etc.)

My iPhone runs the older 1.1.2 software. In my case, it wasn't necessary to update the iPhone to pair with the Garmin.

Hi GollyGee,

The iPhone's older software v1.1.2 and Garmin's Bluetooth got along just fine. Apple's iPhone v1.1.3 firmware update was dropping the Bluetooth connection on Garmin Bluetooth compatible GPS units. Apple "corrected" that problem, with iPhone firmware v1.1.4 and now the Bluetooth connection works properly.

If you choose to update to iPhone's firmware v1.1.4, you'll be able to re-arrange the icons (not available on iPhone's v1.1.2 firmware), on your iPhone's main display. in case you didn't know, here's how:

Rearranging iPhone Icons

To rearrange the iPhone’s home screen icons, do the following:

Tap an icon and hold your finger on it until the icons start shaking. When the icons are shaking, you can rearrange them in whatever order you want (they can’t be moved to empty space).
To move the icon to a new page, just drag the icon off the screen to the right or left. When the icon is in the place you want it, let it go. To confirm the changes, tap the iPhone’s home button.

Scrolling Through iPhone Pages

If you have more than one page of icons on your iPhone after rearranging them, you can scroll through the pages either by flicking them left or right, just like in CoverFlow, or by tapping the white icons just above the dock. The white icons indicate how many pages you have.
