Entering map coords

When I try to enter map coords on the MAP screen,
I cannot seem to use the " - " symbol for the long coords. It is show on keypad, but is darkened out.
Am I missing something in activating this key?
ie - cannot enter -xx.xxxxxx
only -xx.xxxxxx

At the bottom of the Coordinate screen, you can set the format that you want to use for the coordinates. Make sure it is set to
"h ddd.ddddd"
It's not necessary to enter the "-". It is assumed on North American units.

Thanks, I will enter a coord per nuvi and "go to" on map screen. (I should have alredy tried this)
I will double check format settings, I think I have as shown.
