I have a Nuvi 660. How can I seperate the MP3 files to play by type or artist and play them on my unit?

Is may be just my imagination but I seem to be using my GPS more now than I did before......
Could be all the poi files that are so useful.
Anybody else feel this way?
I rely on the redlight and speed locations as well as the rest areas on a trip.

A girlfriend of mine got an Aviton GPS system. as on their website http://www.avitongps.com/ i myself have never heard of this brand and was wondering if any of you have heard of this?

she told me that it has redlight cam alerts and it even alerts her when she goes over the speedlimit.

I am new to this forum and to the GPS community.
I recently bought a Garmin 255W and now I find that I want to add poi's to my unit.
The first ones I would like to add are the new photo radar installations in montreal.
I am now on the look out for all POI's that have to do with photo radar, restaurants and other interesting things especially regarding Canada and Quebec.

I just found this site while looking up new map software on Garmin's site. It looks like it will be very helpful and fun. Looking forward to learning more about it and contributing to it.

I'm new here and have been checking it out for a couple days. I've already downloaded a few POI's and have been reading and reading and reading. I'm going on a couple long motorcycle trips in Jun/Jul and there is so much useful things on here that I didn't even know a GPS could do.

I have a colleague who has a son serving in the military, stationed in Bangkok.

He asked me if it were possible to buy a GPS unit that his son could use to get around Bangkok and elsewhere in Thailand. I really didn't have an answer for him.

Does anyone know the answer to his question and is there any particular brand that would have good/better maps of Bangkok?

One thing ....

Maybe this is a new feature, but Mapsource and the Nuvi 500 seem to support 16 categories that can be named as desired.

After I download the POI and upload it to my GPS, then what?

sorry to seem dumb but when I'm driving, say I downloaded starbucks poi and it seemed to have a sound file...is my garmin going to make a sound when I am near a starbucks? don't laugh, please, I don't understand how this works, does it only work if I'm searching my points of interest for a starbucks?

We are considering getting a GPS for our boat and it would be good to have one that could be used both on land and water. By water I am referring to inland lakes and rivers of the USA. Thank you in advance for your information.

This week we are recognizing MarcelRentech.

MarcelRentech spent hours this last week making a KML file of all the new red light and speed camera locations that are being installed in Montreal Canada.

I usually expect to spend hours geocoding a huge installment like this and he did all the work for me.

I really appreciate it when members like this make my job easier.

Hi all i am new to this site and also new to the nav systems. I just purchased my very first one yesterday. Garmin Nuvi 255. My question is about downloading the poi's. Do i have to download all of the icons and/or sounds seperatly or are the bundled together? Thank you.

I currently have a Nuvi 650 and I have also borrowed my neighbor's TomTom One (I believe it was) before buying my Garmin.

I went with the Garmin because I understood that the Garmin's maps were better for the US, whereas the TomTom had better maps for Europe.

I've been noticing lately how much less often I have to take my eyes off the road and look down at the speedometer to check my speed with the GPSR on my windshield, compared to vehicles where it's built-in and you have to look way down to see your speed and where you are on the map.

(on avererage) does it take your GPS to give you a satelite fix. I'm talking about in your car on or near your dash.
