Red light camera accidents
A recent study shows major accidents are down at red light camera intersections, but rear end collisions are up. I guess from everyone slamming on the brakes to avoid a ticket.

Is there a way to programmatically download Icons similar to the poisync method used for POI files?

Old Google Maps
The old Google Map now doesn't have "Send to GPS" anymore. The only option is "Send to Car" and then a list of cars shows up.
Google is getting worse about a bunch of things not just map app.
The "too big to fail" doesn't apply to user's opinions and my opinion is Google sucks more every day!

Bing bazinga!
In the process of updating my Rosati's Pizza POI, I spotted a "location tweak" in the data on their web site. So, I took a look at it in Google Earth Street View. It didn't look much like a location for a restaurant, but Google's street view dated back to September '09.

Best Super Bowl Commercials (GPS People's Choice Awards) ....
Enough with hearing from those with business interests, consultants & Madison Avenue types ... Plenty of opportunities for creative categories here:
-The ad that will most likely generate sales from this family: The Next Transformers Movie (whatever it will be called).
-The quirkiest: Stephen Colbert's Pistachio Two Part.

Keeping the Windmill Alive - Your last trip? – February 2014
In danger of losing your windmill?
Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).
Anything to keep your windmill alive.
This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Benchmark Hunters??
I realize this site is mostly concerned with the navigation aspect of GPS usage, helping solve equipment issues and sharing interesting POI information. The wealth of subject matter provided here is just fantastic and many contributors have devoted a lot of time and effort in posting content. For that I am grateful and wish to say thanks!!

Traffic Cameras In DC
Starting Feb 1 traffic cameras will begin reporting drivers who block intersections, roll thru stop signs, fail to yield to pedestrians, pass thru an intersection at an unsafe speed, or take an oversize truck or bus on a street too small to accommodate it. Rolling thru the stop sign $50, all the rest $250.
This reported today in the Washington Post.

This week we are recognizing bdhsfz6!
Bdhsfz6 has been a member of POI Factory for over five years.
We selected him this week because for the awesome work he’s doing creating and maintaining bike trail POIs.
I hope one day to make it out that way to at least check out the Great Allegheny passage and I appreciate the diversity these files bring to our community!
Thanks Bdhsfz6!
