Garmin talk

Hi, On my Garmin c530 when I look at my POI and Favorites I see the mileage to that location to the right of the POI. What is bothering me is that it seems that the mileage that is listed there is incorrect. For example I had a loaction from me that I know was 29 miles away but it said 21 miles. When I actually take the route it takes me there correctly with the correct mileage.

I am not clear how to load individual POI files to my N650. I loaded one test POI file via a SD card - no problem. Then I tried again with two other files on a new SD card and it overwrote the existing POI file on my 650, replacing it with the 2 new files.

The 760 say's It automatically marks your position when you remove it from the windshield mount, so you can navigate with nüvi on foot and find your way back to your vehicle.
I cannot find anywhere in the manual the steps to follow to navigate back to the car.
Any help would be appreciated.

I just downloaded the Rest Area csv, mp3 and bmp files and installed on my c340. I don't see any POIs on the map unless I navigate to one. I would like to see all the rest areas (within reason) along the highway so I can determine when I want to stop ahead of time. Is this possible.

I have a low_clearance_safety.csv POI file that contains 312 low clearance locations. For testing I added my current location to the file. None of the locations is encoded with speed information. When loaded with POI loader manual mode and the length set to 5280 feet I get when driving down the freeway a two bell audio alert and a text video alert of the location at about 1 mile distance.

I'm not sure this is a device issue or a setting issue. I take my nuvi when I travel to visit clients. Once I am settled in the rental car, I turn my nuvi on to find that the time hasn't adjusted to the local time. Ideas? Thoughts? Tips?

So, here I am with a week's experience with A GPS device and thinking I am learning a lot. Then I realize that I do not have a basic task understood...

I am in need of some assistance. I recently purchased a C330. According to nRoute, the connection between the software and the GPS keeps getting broken. Any ideas on what may be going on.
By the way, I hope to call Garmin back to see if I can get the map update. I got the free v8 Map Source DVD.

A friend of mine that does impersonations (ish) has kindly helped me make a Michael Jackson voice for my Garmin. I’ve got this working just fine on my Nuvi 250 and my mates Nuvi 200. It can be downloaded at the following address:

I have a new 360 and use Windows Vista. I have downloaded Garmin's POI Loader and a file of E85 Gas Stations. The file's in a separate folder named Custom POI and is a .csx file. When I run the Loader, it says 'there are are no data files in that directory'. The file is definitely in that directory though. Am I doing something really dumb, or is there some obvious answer?

I have the 350. When I'm driving without going to a specific location and using the map, it will display the direction and speed I am driving.

When I am going to a specific location, rather than showing the speed I'm traveling, it shows eta. I've tried changing it to show speed but no luck. It keeps the eta in (lower left corner display)

Anyone know how to resolve this problem?

I've recently purchased the 350 and I'm trying to make some custom POI's. At the moment, I'd like to make one for a speed trap near my house.

I am looking for the POI Loader for the Garmin Nuvi 650 that I just purchased. When I check Garmin's website, I don't see any downloads available under the 650 section.

Is it possible to upload the custom pois from my zumo to mapsource and see them on mapsource? If so...how?

I would like to add some POI's to my garmin C340 but am having a hard time figuring out how to create a POI file. Can some one please help.

The suction cup on my Streetpilot C330's windshield mount cracked after 14 months. I phoned Garmin, and they promptly sent me a new bracket that included a new suction cup. I was told that some of the suction cups were defective. If you have a similar problem, you might be eligible for a free replacement.

Just for my info. i put the address of my work in the 650.It wanted me to take a out of the way route.Even if i went my normal way it would not recalibrate.This is a first for me and causes a concern if i would be going to an unknown destination.
Anyone else had this problem?
