NavTeq Support

I just got back from CES and spent some time looking at all the new GPSR's on the market. I stopped by the NAVTEQ booth and asked one major question, how long does it take to implement a change to the maps once the error is reported to their site. Well the answer I received was approximately 3 months; and of course I told them the number of complaints why users were not updating their maps on their unit was due the errors not corrected. So to make a long story short, I was told to email this individual at NAVTEQ and tell him when approximately you posted the error on their site and he would check it out. The gentlemen's name is:
Eric Dylewski and his email is eric.dylewski@navteq.com and he would check into this problem.

There are a few serious

There are a few serious errors in my city.

One road on the NAVTEQ map shows it being both directions when in fact it's a one way street. Very dangerous!

Another serious error is the omission of a westbound ramp off a bridge. The NAVTEQ map instead suggests going east and doing a u-turn. Were I to do so I wouldn't live to tell the tale!

NavTeq Support

Wow Nick,

I can't believe he gave you his email address.

That's great.

I wish that NavTeq & Garmin would collaborate on some sort of internet/web site updates.

Even if it was subscription based. I would pay a small fee to be able to "Update" the maps on my GPS every quarter or so...... especially if they really do updates their maps every 3 months.

I don't think I'll email that to him though, I don't want him to get overloaded.
