Nuvi 660 POI Question

Trying for the 1st time to put some custom POI's on my Nuvi 660. Strange thing happening. If I upload 2 gpx files then they show up as categories under Extra. If I then upload another file that is a .csv file then only the poi's from the csv file are listed. Do I need to only use one format what am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance...
Bill

.

Are you loading all of them at the same time?

Try doing that.

They get overwritten, not added to

Each time you run POILoader, it overwrites the poi.gpi file on the nuvi. Therefore, you must keep every .gpx and .csv file under the directory that that you point POILoader to. Essentially re-adding each POI every time.

Do a search for "POI Category" and you can find ways to re-name the poi.gpi file to avoid this. However, I just load all my POI files every time. Only take a couple seconds for 20K+ POIs.

Life is a lesson, you learn it when your through. nuvi 200W

I was

I was loading them 1 at a time. I guess that is why it was happening. I will keep everything in one folder and try it again.
Thanks for the replies and the help.

Or you could create folders which will create categories on your unit.

You can't have more than one level of subfolder. The files themselves will create the subcategory.

For example, it might look like this.

> My POI (Main folder)
>> IHOP (subfolder)
... IHOP.csv
... IHOP.bmp
>> National Parks (subfolder)
... National Parks.gpx
... National Monuments.gpx
... National Recreation areas.gpx
... National Parks.bmp
... National Monuments.bmp
etc.

In this example, IHOP and National Parks show up as categories and under National Parks, National Parks, National Monuments, and National Recreation Areas show up as subcategories.

Here are some screenshots of what it would look like.

These are the folder and files on my computer.

This is how the first level shows up on my Zumo.

When I select the National Parks category, this is what I get.

Then if I select National Monuments, I get this.

Just what I wanted to do
