I am about to replace my nuvi 370 that my wife lost. I have a couple of questions that are hard to answer by looking at a local store. Would appreciate answers or advice on:

1. I assume that the stuff my wife did not lose for the 370 (the beanbag mount, fm traffic receiver and such) would work on any nuvi. Is that correct?

Searched the forum and didn't find anything. POI Loader keeps crashing on my Mac, and my PC. Is it possible to have to many POI's? I have a lot, probably more than I need!! But it would be nice to have them all on there. Basically, POI Loader starts, goes for about 10 minutes, then crashes.

Any ideas?

Can anyone successfully convert the medic.srf file into a workable .png file?

I've tried using the 'http://www.techmods.net/nuvi/' website but I don't seen to get a valid png file out of that site.

Morning everyone. Registered my new 760 last night. Should the Garmin "My Maps" page spell out that I am eligible for the 09 update; do I wait for an email; etc?

I purchased Garmin 760 recently. Every now & then it is displaying a messege " Bluetooth Software Update 0%". After that it seems like hanged. I tried to update the software but ........... Can any body help me regarding this? After this messeg i have to unplugged the unit and turn it off and on only then it works. Plz help me. Thanx

If you own own multiple GPS units which do you use on a regular basis? Is one better for local trips and another better for your long trips?

I downloaded the cracker barrel poi's but after I sync with my nuvi 260w I still can't find it on my gps.

When I update my poi files with proximity alerts do I have to manually set the other alerts every time I update 1 file? Or are they set from the first time I installed them?

How do I get an MPEG-4 audio file to play on my Nuvi 750?

I have a kenwood DNX7100, and I recently downloaded the CrackerBarrel files and loaded them into DNX7100.
It all loaded in fine, and I can find them in favorites, but I assumed that when I am travelling a route, that I would get an alert when I am near or passing a CrackerBarrel. I've checked my settings and I have alerts set on.

I have a Nuvi 200 with the US maps installed and Canada maps on an SD card. I downloaded the 2009 maps and installed the US so I now have the 2009 US maps and the 2008 Canadian maps on the SD card. I want to install the 2009 Canadian maps to the SD card but Map Installer will not let me. I cannot select any Canadian provinces.

Has anyone else had issues, since the latest firmware update, with POI alerts alerting more than once upon approach?

Instead of just sounding one alert, now all of mine alert at least twice and sometimes five or six times. It's getting kind of annoying.

The bluetooth on my nuvi 360 quit working. I was impatient to get it fixed. I left a message with Garmin Support on Monday AM. When I got home from work there was no response so I called, 35 minutes later Amanda L. was on the phone with me and Quickly sent me a updated bluetooth software version via e-mail, and patiently talked me through the steps. Works great!

Okay, just for grins, I followed the directions posted by Hornbyp and made copies of the 2008 NT map and key files from my 260 before upgrading to 2009 maps. Placed the files on a 2G SD card as gmapsupp.img (unlock key) and GMAPSUPP.UNL (map data). Found that the 260 would not recognize them unless they were in a folder on the SD card named garmin.

Is there another way to get the map updates...that is, a way other than paying $69.99 to Garmin??? How does one know if the changes in the maps are worth that hefty investment? I'm thinking once every five years might make sense, but spending $70 once a year seems unreasonable. What do the rest of you think? What do you guys do? Nuvi 650.

I just bought a nuvi 750 to replace my TomTom ONE from HSN (299.00).

Having trouble using a new SD card. I unloaded all my POI flies from my Garmin unit.Turned the Garmin off,installed one Sandisk 2GB card. When I tried to reload my POI files using POI loader all the files went directly to the Garmin unit.Am I missing a step???

What program do you use to make a playlist on an SD card for your NUVI? I would like to place a bunch of individual songs on a card and then create several playlists to choose from.

I just got a 200w Nuvi today and have been trying to use the POI lOader.

Since the Nuvi didn't come with a usb cable....I am just using a similar cable from my Canon Camera.

It appears to be working as I've been able to process the map update.

However, when I try the POI loader I keep getting a communication device error.

Any suggestions??
