A couple of newbie questions about the Nuvi 260

I just bought the Nuvi 260 and went to the garmin website to get the software updates. It was already loaded with the 2009 maps but for some reason want to update the software to version 4.10 (i think).

Anyway I have 2/3 questions.

Can I download/save all the info from GPS?
I want to make a backup copy and copy everthing from
the GPS to my PC harddrive. I would like to make the backup copy BEFORE I update the GPS with new POI's.
Also, is it possible to delete some things I may never need such as different languages?

Finally, does hooking my GPS up to the PC via USB actually charge the GPS? I was kind of ticked that it did not come with a charger for the house (but I kinda new that before I ordered).

Thanks!

Also it does charge while attached to you computer, in fact if the battery is very low that's the recommended way to charge it...

edit: also you can delete unused languages, vehicles, etc... you will have a backup the languages when you backup the gps...
