Hi

Is there anyway to convert a .nvl file (on a pen drive) to a kmz or a gmx for a Garmin?
The file was for a Hertz Magellan "NeverLost" gps unit.
Have been told this is an exclusive Oracle based software for Hertz???

I have a new Garmin DriveSMart 51.

I find two things I do not like.

The Driver Alerts are very low volume, and I can barely hear them. I really like the alert that I am driving over the speed limit, but it is not very useful if I do not hear it.

I know this is a little out of the realm of interest for most, but for those of us that are RV-er's, it is a real issue.

Long time lurker first time poster. Purchased the 2019 Drivesmart 65 yesterday and spent today with it my vehicle. Here are some details about it that aren’t being advertised but that some on this board may find useful if deciding to buy.

I own a Nuvi67LM and I have recently updated to the 2020.10 mapping.
After this map update, I have noticed that the unit shows extremely inaccurate speed for roughly 10 seconds when first locking the GPS signal.

I set up a trip with trip planner on my Garmin Drive 61LMT-S and always use coordinates for my stops and of course Garmin enters the stop location as "Coordinates" I need to rename that coordinate so I know what is coming next while driving like "Pilot Gas" instead of "Coordinates". Was very simple on my Garmin 2589LMT but can not seem to figure out this new one?

I drive A LOT and have noticed several places on interstates where my Garmin Drive 6 says the speed limit is only 16 mph. Anyone else see that? Also, there's a grey exclamation point in the corner that, when i tap on it, there's 2 entries that just say "16 mph". When I tap on either, there's an entry for a POI but I can't clear either of them. Anyone else have this happen?

I went to Garmin Map Installer. It told me that there was a new update NA 2019.20 from NA 2019.10 for my DriveSmart 5LMT. When I checked Garmin Express it told me there was a new version NA 2020.10. Does Garmin Map Updater lag with the releases or does each version have to be installed to get to the newest version? I do not have enough space on Drive C to use Garmin Express.

Something curious happened.

So after going to CES, I noticed that Mass Storage Mode has been renamed to USB Ethernet. I haven't upgraded since my 3490 so I was looking for confirmation that USB Ethernet is in fact Mass Storage Mode. I can only assume that it is but just wanted to confirm.

The options were:

MTP Auto Detect
USB Ethernet
USB Ethernet Single Session

I've downloaded the user manual, followed the directions in the manual as well as the directions in the GPS itself but am not getting anywhere.
In a current created route I'm finding it impossible to add a saved location and add it somewhere in a route. Anyone else experience that too? Could it be the software update I had to install before I could update to the 2010.10 map.

The backlight on my Garmin has suddenly gone dark on one side. Does anyone have a link for repair to this? Do I need a new touch screen? Are they still available?

I decided to update my Garmins to CN NA 2020.10 yesterday. I updated the Garmin DriveLuxe 51 LMT-S first. Then I switched to the Garmin mini USB cable and updated the Nuvi 350, 360 and 500 without a hitch.

I know Gamin has temperature specifications wonder if anyone ever had one freeze up from cold or die because of heat?

Is anyone using a Drive 51 LM and a GTM-36 traffic cable?

I have a friend that is not using the GTM-36 (still in box, never been used) that he says came with another model he is not using and he's willing to part with it for $15.
