How to load icons to poi files.

Having trouble with POI's with 3597.

Made sure I have sox file in POI loader but no sounds or alerts when loading POI's.

Do wav files automatically download when you download the POI file example Walmart.cvs

Never had a problem with the 1450 but you could view the files with the 3597 the gpi file will not open.

Why is it? When you turn on the logger to troubleshoot Bluetooth issues with the SmartLink app, the unit stays connected for hours and hours and won't disconnect? Then turn the logger off and the disconnects happen within a few minutes, then repeat over and over.

Bah, they may have helped the Bluetooth issues in 3597 software, but not in the 5.4 that the dezl has.

Just found an Easter E in the Folders on my 3597 Want check and see if your unit really is a Refurb or new? Connect it to your computer and open the folders. Select Garmin> Diagnostics> GarminOS.log. Double click or right click and choose Open the log file. At the top of the list is the oldest entry, at the bottom the newest entry.

I am trying to come up with some way to alert myself when in a school zone. I have made a POI but am a bit disappointed with the result. It seems my lat / long data source is set back so far from the road it requires a 1000 meter distance to register on my GPS

I've been using my 2599 for work and leave it on all day whether I'm using it to navigate or not. When my day is over, I could be one to two hours away from home and the GPS will tell me how many minutes from Home I am without my putting in a destination. It doesn't happen all the time, I don't see a particular setting for it, I was wondering if anyone else has stumbled across this?

Is anyone else experiencing difficulty with Garmin Smart Link connectivity with their DriveSmart series and their iPhone on iOS 10.1.1? Frequently, I find that the Garmin and iPhone won't connect automatically (for traffic, weather, parking, etc.) and you have to fight with it by force closing the app, turning Bluetooth off/on on the iPhone, turning Bluetooth off/on on the Garmin, etc.

I would have never guessed that I would say that, because my first exposure to google maps/android was Memorial Day.

I was impressed at that time, but didn't fully trust it.

Conversation with Neighbor about GPS, brought out her Nuvi 50. 3 year old map, and no knowledge of operation.
30 min later, after I had entered 2 addresses for her, I had her enter 2 more... We came back here, and with her permission entered it in GE, and found out it had Maps, and Software update available!!!
(Only did SE USA, must not be much internal memory)

When I am traveling with my nuvi 2789, I will get an audio warning (a beep) when I near a school zone. And when I accidently exceed the speed limit, the actual speed box adjacent to the posted speed box will take on a reddish-orange border to alert me that I have exceeded the posted speed limit.

Anybody know if nuvicam can be updated to include some of the new garmin functionality, such as upcoming road warnings, messaging alerts, etc.?

Trying to follow numerous instructions that seem to contradict.. or in any case not working for me. I am trying to get notifications for school zones in Edmonton Ab. I understand (?) that some folder names automatically assign alarms / notification but so far all I get are icons on my map. I was under the impression that naming it Redlight would automatically assign properties to it.

I want to import custom POIs, into Basecamp. Can you provide some guidance?
Basecamp has a custom POI function so Im assuming this can be done but the function in Basecamp is grayed out.

I have a strange situation in my Nuvi 2797.

In my "Saved" thread/folder there should only be two subjects.

1. "All Saved Places"
2. "Address" (Maybe this should not be there either)

I now have two more there which are from my Custom POI's.
1. Custom POIs: Americas Best Value Inns
2. Custom POIs: Super Eight

I have Nuvi 3597LMTHD which came with HD traffic receiver. Since I am in Canada, there is no HD traffic. I subscribed to Smartlink App traffic. Today, after long time I tried FM traffic using the built in receiver. Unfortunately it does not work anymore. At the top left side of the screen I see the status as "Receiver disconnected" and the main screen with the following message:

Just ordered a 3597LMTHD

Will my 1450 car power cord with traffic work?

Will the same 1450 mount work?

It's been years since I loaded POI files onto a NUVI that I am lost in how to do it. I get as far in the POI Loader where it asks where to put the new data. Everything I enter gives the error that 'there are no data files in that folder. Please specify a folder that contains at least one file with a .csv or .gpx extension.' (Using windows 10).' I have a refurbed 3597.

Prior to updating to 4.2.0.0, 2 2689 LMT files were flagged needing updates... a Voice and Traffic listing..
(I've been out of town for a couple weeks -- so if this is old news, please ignore)

I compared line 1 of wallmart.csv to another .csv file.... then removed row 1... saved.... and POI now loads without error...
