Hi,
I've installed poi's before with no problem. I have a sim card installed to hold the Poi's. When I look at the card on the computer they are all there. But when I run the Dezl i can't find the custom POI's like it used to. I wonder if the last Garmin update change some thing or not. I used Garmins POI loader.

Well I BRICKED two of these. I used POI loader and some CSV files. Downloaded those from low clearances . Then talking to the garmin rep he suggested this website. So I am a bit tech savvy and can't believe it bricked two devices. I used poi loader to read the csv and load then onto the device. Once this was done I was in a death loop the the garmin logo and loading maps.

I just updated my 3490 the other day to 2018.10. When connected to the PC, it said that there was like 7.2GB used and approx. 66.3MB left. I'm wondering if this is the last update that will completely fit in the internal memory. I have yet to put in a microSD card. I do recall firmware version 8.3 indicating and update to handle larger map sets so maybe they are more compressed? I don't know.

1450 acts like it has a USB connection over and over will come up on loading maps once in a while then go back into system mode.

I wanted to do a hard reset but it just will not go into reset mode no mater how long I hold my thumb in the corner (any corner) on power up.

Any ideas how to force a hard reset?

Sorry if this has been discussed, but most searches of "slow" seem to pertain to slow presentation of route, or slow zooming, etc.

I have 6 Garmin products (an old Steet Pilot I keep because I can hear it in noisy diesel trucks) and 4 Nuvis, and the NEWER ones (1300, 1490, and 3790) all seem to have gotten "lazy" with regard to taking inputs from the keyboard.

I was looking to update the maps for my 1350 and noticed the most recent maps (2018.10) is 2.8GB.
The original 1350 map is 1.1GB, and after as much file trimming as I can do on the unit, there's still only around 1.6GB free (without original map). I didn't want to resort to mSD card, but guess that's my only choice for using the current map.

My old wall charger is not charging my DriveSmart60 GPS. What kind or type of wall charger do any one recommend?

when you download poi from the site and load them into gps, do it suppose to delect the default poi that came on gps when brought because i do not see any of the default poi before installing the red light camera poi

I went to a Micro Center near me yesterday to buy my wife a new laptop computer. While I was there, I found out that they also had the Garmin DriveLuxe 51 LMT-S in stock. I decided to try it and see how it compares to my Garmin Nüvi 3597LMTHD.

New to forum, My nuvi 3597 has not had a map updated in a few years. I downloaded Garmin express and was able to update the software but nothing comes up for maps. It just says device up to date.

Does anyone know of a way to view the vehicle (SRF) files? I found that 200+ vehicles that I've collected over the years got renamed so I have no way of know what they are. I've seen this site http://techmods.net/nuvi/ but I was hoping to find another way then converting all 200+ files one at a time. All the other links I've found so far for programs to do this appear to be dead.

I have inserted a memory card and used the POI loader to get them on that card. When I plug in the unit to my computer I can see the POI database on that card. But there is no option on my Garmin to access those Custom POI's. On my other Garmin is was under EXTRAS but there is no such category on this new unit. Does anyone know how I can access them from my Drivesmart 50LMT? TIA.

Hi everyone

Im new to this group and am hoping that you can help me.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 56LM which I use infrequently.
I took it out last week to charge it and it wont charge (either incar, via usb plug or even via the pc) as it keeps rebooting. It displays loading maps, then the garmin logo with the website and then immediately reboots.

I thought I remembered that on my Nuvi 660, one had to hold your finger on the Battery Icon for 10 seconds or more to get to the "Diagnostic" screen. Holding on the "Time" in the upper right (Main screen) gets me Video & Audio stuff.

Am I correct - using the Battery Icon? Or has my memory failed again? I'm over 70, so cut me a little slack.

Just received the new Android 7 Nougat update on my Samsung Edge + today and not only does the Garmin Viago app still work it is much faster. Everything on the phone is like it is on steroids.

The HERE map app works faster too.
