Frustrating.... (Zumo 550 died)

I have a Zumo 550 GPS on my Harley. It's 9 years old, and I've repaired it three times. I've had a handlebar cradle mount problem that finally died last week. They're no longer made, none on ebay, or Amazon. Found a new one in Australia, ordered it, with shipping and taxes cost $108.00 It shipped yesterday. My GPS died today.......

Ouch

All I can say (as Captain Obvious would) is "That truly sucks!" Hopefully you can cancel that puppy or even return it for a xx% restocking fee. They may take sympathy on you. Or perhaps find another Zumo to replace the bricked unit.

450/550

For what it's worth berettag, the Zumo 450 works on the same cradle as the 550, the only real difference between the two is street name directions, and BlueTooth. I have one of each, one on my Road King and one on wifey's Softail Deluxe and side by side you can't tell them apart otherwise.

I mention this to open more possibilities for being able to use that cradle.

I bought my 550 new with an extra cradle and picked up the 450 years later on ebay. Wifey and I each had a cradle mounted on our bike and I got tired of switching back and forth. The 450's on ebay were cheaper than the 550 and I didn't need bluetooth or spoken street names.

Your song ...

Showing my age here:

Gloom, despair, and agony on me
Deep, dark depression, excessive misery
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all
Gloom, despair, and agony on me

Sorry.

No offense intended ... I was trying to add some humor to your situation and failed miserably as it apparently came across as sarcastic. I do understand how frustrating it is when what you are trying to accomplish doesn't work out and costs you money. My comment was inappropriate and I sincerely apologize.

No problem Alan

No problem Alan. You always do great posts trying to help people. I love sarcasm, but rarely use it on line. Anything you say will be offensive to somebody. If my Zumo died a day sooner I could be putting that $108.00 towards a new 595LM, $800.00 If I couldn't find this part in the US on Ebay, Amazon or or Craig's List, there must be other people that need and could use it. So maybe I can recover the costs.
