Just upgraded my 530 to 5.4 from 4.1
1) Can I delete the GUPDATE.GCD file that the update copied to the unit

2)Noticed I have lost a menu item since the upgrade
in the Tools Menu (the Traffic ICON went missing)
I am assuming that it only appears if you connect the
traffic reciever

And it looks like they made the restore button HUGE

Just curious, Is the Hardware in the Street Pilots c3's the sames as the c5's...... If the hardwares the same Couldn't you just Flash the Firmware and have better graphics on the screen? Just a thought, I figured Garmin would do this to save production cost.

I've done this with other products that offer their firmware for free and saved a few hundred dollars.

Changes made from version 6.12.2 to 6.12.3:

Fixed an issue transferring routes to the Zumo.
Fixed an issue with the integration of Google Earth and MapSource.
Fixed an issue with the size estimate of selected map sets.

New firmware for streetpilot C5x0 5.6 is available.

I find myself taking my c340 mount on and off daily because I have read several people having issues with the suction cup getting stuck to the windshield. Well today this happen to me. For the 1st time I left it on for about a week ( My car is Garage keep )and low and behold, I had a time getting the Suction Cup to release from the windshield.

I'm trying to export waypoints (favorites) that I have stored in my Nuvi 660 so I can import them into Google Earth. I don't see a way to export a list of stored favorites, or even view the coordinates on the 660.

Am I missing something? Any ideas?

Has anyone else experienced this? My 60CSx always worked fine until I found out about custom POIs and loaded some on it.

After loading them my gps started locking up. After driving for about 10 minutes, the unit becomes unresponsive. Pushing buttons does nothing. The only thing to do is turn it off (the screen fades out slowly, unlike the usual beep and switch off behavior).

Has anyone opened the case of their Nuvi series? I am wondering about battery replacement. It seems this could be done if instructions were available. This series has been out long enough now that soon a battery is going to go dead.

Does anyone know what this unlock code is for if the i5 unit come preloaded with city navigator nt v8?

I was wondering if anybody who owns a StreetPilot c330 could answer a question I have. I also wrote Garin about this but have not got a reply from them.

I just purchased the c330 and while playing around with all buttons I notice one thing it did not have and should according to everything I read.

Access the Debug/Diagnostic Pages:
1. Turn GPS on
2. Click View Map
3. Click the Speed section in the left lower corner
4. Press and Hold the Moving Avg box for several seconds
5. The Diagnostic Screen will appear.
6. Press Next to cycle through them all.

Perform a Hard Reset to Clear Your GPS:
1. Turn GPS off
2. Press and hold the bottom right hand corner of the screen

What's the difference between their Release Date vs. Ship Date? For some versions there are 3-4 months lag between the dates! Which is the date you can actually order the update?

I have downloaded 3 poi files. I see them on my pc, and I used the poi loader to put them on my sd card. I get a congratulation when ir's through saying I succeded and when I look at the card there is one file on it. Its named poi.gpi, but I cant see it when I try to open it on my device. Anyone have an idea why? I would sure appreciate some help.

I bought a used c550, and it was sold legitimately. The seller didn't have any of the paperwork, and thus I was not able to get the yellow coupon.

How can I update my unit's maps? If I buy "City Navigator" will I get updates each time, or will I have to buy it each time?

Ok, I have repeatedly put my POIs back into the unit several times and I am still not getting any alerts. I looked up the POI and I was less then .1 miles away and it didn't alert. Under the descr of the POI, it says Alert Info...Distance 2461ft. Zero Speed.

So it looks like it should alert. Any ideas?

I have the GTM Traffic Reciever for the 550. I have the latest firmware, and since that update, it takes forever to get traffic notices. The traffic icon on the menu page doesn't activate for up to 30 minuntes. Any tricks or tips to expedite the reception. I have tried shutting down, unplugging, etc.

Dose anyone know if you can add a FM transmitter to a Garmin Nuvi 350. It does have a opening for a headphone jack. I want to send the Garmin voice to my car radio. If one is available what is the brand name of it. Thanks

Hey! I just stumbled here from Google as I was looking for some POIs and recommendations for what GPS to buy.

I am in the market for a car GPS in the next month or two when I move down to California. I've read lots of reviews on different units. I don't have the budget to spend an arm and a leg, so keep that in mind.

Which instrument is better interms of POI uploading and handling? Garmin C330 or Nuvi 350?

I have currently C330 and want to return it back and buy Nuvi 350..

Any immidiate advice?
