How do I mark Towns that I have visited?

How do I mark Towns that I have visited so that I will not visit them again? There are lots of small towns around here and I like to go by them when I am on my way to somewhere else and I would like a way to mark them so that I wont keep going to the same ones. I would also like to mark roads like this too. I have a c320, I wonder which units can do this, or is there another way?

I would love to be able to do something like this for when i travel, many times i have had to get off the main pathway looking for a gas station in a small town only to find out that it's closed, and I would love to be able to mark the town so that i don't bother getting off and wasting fuel.

What if you added a set of custom POI's and called them "towns to skip". Use it as a set of Points of No Interest.

That would be just like the internet, once you've been to every place and check it off....you're done...I finished the internet...
Then once all the towns are checked off....no need for the gpsr. All done!
But seriously, give us some time to ponder that one...there may be something workable for ya.

If you are going by the small towns...on your way to somewhere else...why are you marking the small towns at all? No need to mark any unless you want to mark it as a stop, or favorite/frequented place.
Maybe I'm missing the question...that's always a possibility.

You can set them up as
You can set them up as Favorites or POIs, but nothing is going to stop them from showing up on your Nearest cities or nearest POI's list. There's no functionality that I know of like that on a consumer grade GPSr. Probably not on any GPSr of any grade.

Do you mean the list of cities, as found by...
╠ Where to --> cities ╣
If so, that list will always list the 50 closest to your current location. For example, if you were in OK City your list would be different then if you were in Tulsa.
If that's the case, you can try it. Turn GPS mode to off. (main menu, wrench, system, gps mode -> off.
Then select another location, either browse map, or search for another city, then "Set Loc"
Then back to ╠ Where to --> cities ╣ and you will see different cities.
Actually an easier way, just drive a few miles in any direction and check the list. It will be different. There is not a way to mark or remove anything from this list.
