I just bought a Nuvi 360 for $349.99 including shipping at Newegg.com. It is good deal for anyone who need like small including bluetooth.

I'm new to this so I apologize for asking such a basic question. How do I convert Excel .csv file to Garmin Data Base, .gdb, files?

The choice of mounts is limited for my c340, and now that I'm going to be moving it between my car and my wife's, I wanted something a little easier to handle than the stock suction cup mount. So, after doing some research, I settled on the Gramin Friction Dash Mount (model #010-10613-00).

OK--I'm a nubi, but this should be simple..

I loaded GPX and CSV custom POI files ( from POI factory) onto my Nuvi 650
w/ POI loader.

It finished and said I had loaded 2987 POI's

When I look at Where to,Extras, the custom POI screen appears and the little
circle goes round & round ----then nothing ??

What did I do wrong or how can I tell if they are there....the file was put

Hello and thank you in advance for the help. I have a Garmin 660 and I would like to add some POI files with phone numbers. My Bluetooth will not upload my contacts from my phone so my only option is to load POI's with phone #'s. However I don't seem to have the correct format.

Just joined this list and I'm blown away by all the POI's you can add to this unit.
One question tho, is it possible to remove any unwanted files from my garmin that I know I will not be using such as languages? This would free up some room in my unit for more POI's. I've attempted to do so but have not found a way to do this. Comments???

I use a Garmin eTrex Legend when I walk my dog and also for sailing at a nearby lake. I have found an error a couple of times under the following conditions. When I go to the lake I change the units to nautical miles and set a waypoint for downwind navigation. Then when I come home (about 15 miles from the lake) I reset the unit to statute miles and reset the time and distance to zero.

Anyone have any luck creating/loading custom tourguides for the c550? A working sample gpx would be great to see...

I was thinking about getting the T mobile wing as my next phone but Garmin doesn't list it as compatible with my Nuvi 360. Does anyone know if it is compatible at all?

I've been able to transfer one Custom Waypoint Icon to my 276C using xlmage, but have had no luck moving any others. The typical error message reads "The following images being transferred either could not be opened or are not compatible with the corresponding image on the GPS."

Any ideas or advice???

Just wondering if there are any viruses out yet, lurking in the dark, preying on our little toys...
Is it possible to plant any "nasties" into GPS units, maybe via "custom POIs"?... or through an infected SW/map from manufacturer's website?

I have version 7, is it worth the upgrade. Is it only maps that have changed, or have they changed the program at all?

My POI alerts are working intermittently on my 7200. I'm not sure why. They seem to be formatted correctly, the icons and sounds are renamed properly. They do work, but not consistently. I have checked the configuration of the 7200 and all seems to be in proper order. They are loaded by POIloader.

Any thoughts or suggestions.

Having my 660 held by a bean-bag on the dashboard, I've suddenly realized that a sun shade visor, wrapped around the unit, would be pretty useful: better screen's view in direct sunlight, no sunrays hitting and warming the unit... any thoughts about?

I have a Nuvi 350.
How does one make use of the SD card slot? Does it just add memory available? I was hoping to simply add a .csv file for example, and have the 350 use it. Looks like I'd have to use POILoader to add the new .csv in the usual fashion.

When plugged into a USB port, is the unit using the battery or using the power from the USB port?

I am getting ready to upload poi files to my Garmin 340.
I've never done this before.

What I'd like to know is what happens to the data thats already in the unit? For instance, if I upload a Radio Shack db, there will be both new and old entries. What happens to the locations already there? Does this new file totally overwrite the existing one or does it just add new locations?

I was web crawling looking for POI files (have I mentioned I'm getting way too addicted to this thing), and ran across a site claiming to have 77,000 school speed zones in a POI file. I thought, "That'd be cool to have."

Hey all, new to the forum and already I have a question. I've down loaded several POI locations and attempted to do the same with the Icon, well hear was where I ran into trouble. Using the POI downloader from Garmin I was able to download and save to my Zumo all the items downloaded from POI Factory, but as far as the Icons and Sounds, well no such luck.

I am confused by Garmin declaring that they do not have any authorized dealers on ebay or other auction type web sites.
