Nuvi 360 speaker

I'm debating between Nuvi 360 vs. Nuvi 660. I like the handy size of 360. But there have been a lot of negatives written about its bluetooth and speaker issues. Has Garmin done anything recently to improve these negatives? If not, will current owners of Nuvi 360 share some of their "work-arounds", e.g. someone uses a visor microphone, some use a MP3 speaker by Radio Shack (40-1441)... etc. By the way, where do you buy the visor microphone?

Nuvi 360

I have had my Nuvi 360 for over a year now. I started out with just the unit, then added the external mic and a cassette adapter.

The Bluetooth on my Nuvi works great, never had a problem. I needed an external mic to improve my voice reception during phone calls. You can buy the mic from Garmin direct of online ~$15.00.

I added the cassette adapter because I wanted the sound through my car stereo for improved listening.

I did have to tweak "hack" the volume level of the MP3's, to give a more balanced volume level when hearing the navigation directions. Search on keywords like: "MP3 volume LOUD" "volume hacks" and such to find info on that topic.

Casette adapter

Hi, msumy
Thanks for your response. What brand and model number of cassette adapter do you use for the purpose you stated? Will you share the info.

I have the 350, and after

I have the 350, and after the latest firmware update the volume seems more balanced between the directions and mp3.

Casette Adapter

Hi wingsang104,

There is no model number. I bought it from Circuit City, around $20.00. It is white and came in clear plastic with blue background. It was near the iPod accessories.
