I just purchased a Garmin Nuvi 200w and I have a question.

I know that they come with maps already loaded and you can update them yearly I believe
But at what cost?

Does anybody use a Bracketron Nav-Mat Pad, in lieu of Garmin's Bean bag thingie, to mount a Nuvi 660 on the dashboard?

If you do, what's your experience? Worth the $$?

SO I just bought this. IT is my first gps unit.

2 questions. The Nuvi 200 had more updated poi then this unit. The display model NUVI 200 had a new best buy that was built listed,but this 660 did not. Why is the info different, and can I get it to be the same info as the Nuvi 200?

I have succesfully copied several .csv files to my Garmin using POI Loader.
I have copied one thousand postcodes, for example, but if I try 10,000 the operation fails.

Hello everybody, I just got a nuvi 650 for my birthday. I connected to unit to my computer and tried to delete all the preloaded pics and mp3. On the Mac window it shows that those files have been deleted, however they are still on the unit. How do I solve this problem?

Does anyone know of a round about way of getting POI files created by others into MapSource where thay could be subsequently downloaded into the GPS unit. I do a lot of planning in MapSource and would like to load the POI's that I need for a particular trip.

I just came home for the holidays and started using my dad's c550 that hasn't been used for months. I turned it on and it flickered off. I thought it ran out of batteries and so I plugged it in. Nothing happened. It didn't charge and it didn't turn on. I'm afraid it's broken. Any suggestions?

I just subscribed and downloaded the red light camera POI files. I have read as much as I could find but still have some questions.

I can't seem to find what the unit (Street Pilot 330) will actually do when approaching one of the red light intersections. I know one can download specific sounds but is there a default one that will sound if one of the specific files aren't downloaded.

I just purchased a nuvi 350 from CircuitCity.com and I was just wondering what the most recent map version for this unit is?

It is in the process of being shipped here, so I want to know what to look for to find a map version on the unit? If it is not the most recent, what are my options? Can I call Garmin and ask them nicely to upgrade me? How does (or does not) work?

Just got my Nuvi 750 yesterday and so far I love it, however this morning I ran into some strangeness. I routed to a location in Georgia (I'm in California). After routing I I asked it to show me restaurants near my destination and it showed me restaurants in Springfield Oregon, near my sisters house which just happened to be in the unit as one of my favorites.

Does anyone know if the windshield mounts for the Nuvi 360 and 660 are the same?
I ordered one of the 660's from Best Buy today and I am giving my 360 to my friend for Christmas. He is an over the road trucker and really needs a unit.
The reason I ask, is I bought an extra windshield mount for my 360, and if it will work on the 660, I will keep it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I read somewhere today, on this forum (I can't find the post now), that buyers should be considering ethical behaviour before taking back their previous purchases, and upgrading to something else.
I'm bothered by this.
35 days ago I purchased my GPSr, but now I see it, on the same site, for $120 less.

Anyone else having issues with getting the tracks to upload to mapsource from their 750. I keep getting a communications error.

I have a Nuvi 650 that I use (mostly) in my Altima. Sticks to the windshield, never any problem. However, reading all the posts concerning theft, I’m thinking that maybe I could mount the thing in a compartment on my dash. The car already has a handy place for it, I think that’s where they put the OEM GPS unit. (Pictures open in a new window.)

I'm new. I can't get the hang of Recently Found and Favo(u)rites (I'm Canadian, eh?)
I can clear all entries in Recently found, but I'm looking for a way to add selected ones to my Favorites, and dump the rest.
What am I missing?
I've installed v.4.20, BTW

There's a relatively "new" road I travel every day. It's been there for ~3 years now. It was basically made by making a 4-lane through a few fields, that connected to a couple curvy 2-lane roads.

It cuts 10 minutes and a couple miles off the old way of travel (using the two curvy 2-lane roads).

Has anyone used their Nuvi with Bluetooth to send text messages?
