Garmin Issues

Does anyone have an email address or link where I can report software issues to Garmin? Or would it just be the COntact Support page?

My 750 is still having the problem finding POI's near my destination. Instead it gives me POI's near one of the locations listed in my favorites.

Web Updater

I dont know if there are any Updates yet for the Nuvi750 But my brothers Etrex was doing that same thing it was finding restaurants that were 100 miles away before finding the ones across the road from him. I ran updater on it and it works fine now...

Routes

Not sure if it part of what is causing it but I think in all of the cases where this occured I had set up a long route (between 800-2000 miles). My destination might be in Florida and I would request POI's near my destination and would get them in California, near one of my favorites (and not even along my route). Not a real big deal, but would still like to see it fixed.

I'm sure it's posted somewhere, but where can we find updater?

Updater is at Garmin

You can download WebUpdater free from the Garmin site, and while you are there you can also get the free Poi Loader. I just ran UpDater on my 650 ( after I did a complete backup ) it is quicker now..and after it did the Updates it suggested some free Vehicles to try.

Go to the Garmin site

Go to the Garmin site and do a search (usually in upper right hand site of web page) for WebUpdater . Should take you to area to download it !

Let us know

Let us know, quackinup, if WebUpdater fixes the POI proximity problem. Seems like a handy tool to have anyway.

so, you are touching ► where to ► near ► my destination ► ok

and getting results near one of your favorites? That is strange indeed.

No, that's not going to fix it, I'm already running the most recent firmware.

Exactly. So far it only seems to happen when I have very long routes entered.

Still just the October 30 release which I loaded when I got the unit a week and a half ago.

After I updated to version

After I updated to version 2.20 I noticed a bit of odd behavior that was fixed by doing a reset. Turn it on and hold the power button in the on position for 8 seconds until the device resets. See if that fixes the issue.

Tnanks

I'll try it and see what happens

Garmin Response

For info, here is Garmins response

Thank you for contacting Garmin International, The unit cannot
calculate information that is over 23.99 hours. The route from
California to Orlando is well over this so I recommend to split up the
route and set your location in Orlando and then look up the poi's. To
do this you will go into Simulator mode in the system of the unit and
then go back to browse map and set the location in Orlando.

However...

The unit does calculate the entire route to Orlando for me. Also, I believe I also had the issue occur when I did a route to my sisters house in Oregon which is only a 14 hour drive. Naturally, now that I'm talking to Garmin about it, I am unable to duplicate that one. Previously I found, with one of them, that if I deleted my Favorites it worked fine....but alas, also unable to duplicate now....

Reset

I did do a reset as suggested by CXI above, maybe that's why I can't duplicate some of those things and their response it valid.

What Garmin said is BS.

What Garmin said is BS. I've simulated many routes over 24 hours and it calculates them just fine. The only different thing when it's over 24 hours is there is no arrival time displayed. Once there's less than 24 hours remaining, the ETA will appear. That's how it is on my 660.

Time

Yeah, I noticed the arrival time thing, and that makes sense.

In 2 weeks

I will be staying at a Hotel on the same street as Garmin in Olathe, Kansas for 2 nights. The last time I was there my Nephew took me by the Garmin plant!

If I have any issues with my (new to me) C340 or my old C330 on my way out there I might just stop in to say Hello to them !

Don't know

Don't know but I know I should arrive at the Hotel early enough in the day that I might just try to get over there and see what they might have to offer - sales, tours etc !
