mp3 playlist limitation?

Does anyone run into a limitation of mp3 playlist in 360?

My 360 is less than a week old. I took out the SD card straight from my palm PDA and put it into the SD slot of 360. It did find the pictures and songs alright. But for the playlist, it shows only 50 but I know I have 80+

I'd sent an email to Garmin support about it on 11/23 and haven't heard from them yet.

are you certain all titles are indeed MP3?

They have to be MP3 - as that is the only format supported...I say this because it is one of the most common problems encountered...otherwise, use the search box above, and use 'playlist' as a keyword - you'll find a lot of tips.

And that is why they (the internet) have so many free audio converters...lol.

Convert

What I didn't realize until the other day is that Windows XP (and I imagine Vista) has that ability built in. I used it to convert a wav for a TourGuide file.

Nuvi 360 plays 1,000 songs only

Replied from tech support said the 360 only reads up to 1,000 songs. For example, I keep an audio Bible which is in mp3 format along with other mp3 songs. Altogether it has 1,000+ files. But the 360 stops reading about it reaches it's limit. There is no indication as when this limitation will be taken away. As such, there is no point of buying a high capacity SD card for mp3.

How about NUVI 6**

What about other NUVIs? Is this limit for all NUVIs?

Can you give some more details about how to do a .wav to TourGuide conversion?
Thanks,

Converting a WAV

You just need to convert the WAV to an MP3. Depending on what program you have associated with WAV files, you may be able to do this directly in the file folder (I believe the most recent version of Media Player does this for me). If not then search for a converter, there are plenty of good free ones out there.

.

I'm not sure when this feature sneaked in (maybe I just never noticed it!) - but Windows XP 'Sound Recorder' can open a .WAV and re-save it as .MP3.
