GPX versus CSV

I use POI Edit. Call up the gpx file and do a save as and it will convert it to a csv file. POI Edit is a freebie you can obtain off the internet.

Ok, I've loaded up a .gpx file into POI edit and I can see all the values. How do I convert/save it as a .csv file? I tried and it looked like it worked, but I get an error when I try to open the Excel file. And it tries to open in POI edit, not Excel.

Several possibilities:
First, a csv file is not an Excel file, it's a 'comma-delimited text file'.

(I'm assuming Windows OS) You probably had Windows set to open a csv file with Excel. When you installed POI Edit, it possibly changed the default program to open a csv file to POI Edit.

You can either change this default back to Excel or change it to NotePad; or you can use the right-click on the csv file and select 'Open With...', then select Excel.
