hi anyone i have big question about my c320, everytime when i turn it on, they call me get update for my 2008 map, i want to know if i don't want to be pay $75 for unlock code, i feel too much, because i am not use every day, in the case still ok or they make me have problems ??

Greetings....new nuvi 660 owner. have downloaded rest areas and lexus dealerships into same file on computer and poi loder to sd card in gps. my question is to clarify that this one file will contain any location files (csv or gpx) all bit maps and all mp3's. How does unit "know" to associate appropriate bit map and mp3 with location? Thanks in advance.

Can I use the Vehicle pointer Icons on a 7200?

i was wondering if a universal 12v cig adapter with the right plug for the gps would work to power the unit or is it only a garmin plug that will work.

Ok how do i get the lon & lat for an address with out driving there?

I'm sort of stunned at the lack of status information on the display on the Nuvi 680 compared to the TomTom or my previous GPS software I used on my PDA (Pocketmap Navigator).

I'm fairly new to GPS but am having a lot of fun with my Nüvi 250. Does anyone know if it is possible to download free or custom maps or overlays to the Nüvi unit? I ask with the intention of downloading maps of trails and the like. Thanks a lot!

I was playing with my GPS today and found out that if you tap on your vehicle, while on map screen, it will give your current position and elevation. Also gives you the option to save location to favorites.
This may be usefull if at a sporting event, amusement park, etc. and want to save where you parked. Then you could use GPS to find your car. It may have other uses as well.

I have a Nuvi 200 and when I search for a POI by name it takes 5 to 6 minutes and it still doesn't find the POI that I'm looking for. It typically finds the POI that is 40+ miles away. I went to the store and using the display model of the Nuvi 200 and a display of the Nuvi 350 I searched for the same POI.

while learning my way around my new nuvi 250, I have inadvertently added a whole list of favourites that I don't require. How can I remove them in bulk.

My Nuvi 250W lost the voice turn by turn. Any sugestions on how to get it back ? The one thing i did do was eliminate all the text except american english. After I did that i lost the voice turn by turn. Desperate please help. I hope I didnt f It up. Tried to restore to the default settings but that didnt work. Anyway if anyone can help please let me know. Thanks. Gary 250W

This has been discussed here and there has been a 'spirited' discussion over at GPSPassion. One guy said Garmin told him for sure it does not, another guy said he knows people at Garmin that said it does.

If I get an Auxiliary Input for my 660 and connect them via a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable, i understand that i will be able to listen to my MP3's on my car speakers thru the 660.

my question is, will i also be able to use bluetooth this way?

i guess what i am trying to ask is if the AUX jack works for bluetooth too.

When removing unwanted files from NUVI 760 (eg vehicles or lang.) any special care that must be taken or can one just copy the unwanted file to PC and then delete from NUVI?

I own a Nuvi 770, is it possible to install Topo Map on this Nuvi?

Also, anticipating that it is possible, I purchased a 4GB HC SD card for my Nuvi, when I put it in the Nuvi, the Nuvi went black and never turn on again. I had to return the Nuvi back for an exchange. Is it because the Nuvi does not accept HC SD cards.

Just want to say hello to the fellow forum members, I use a Garmin Etrex Vista HCx and want to know which program could be used to store, catalog, manipulate, etc POI's before using Garmin's POI uploader. Looking for something basically that works. I have been lurking for a week now and have learned a lot. thanks

I am not sure where else to put this post. The people on this site seem to know what they are talking about. I am considering getting a fitness watch and was wondering if any of the Garmin users here have purchased a Garmin forerunner 50 (with the foot pod) or 205. They are about the same price and was wondering about the pros and cons with either one.

I find that 80% of the time, when I power up my 250w, I have to zoom it in or out in order to get street names to appear. In other words, all I see at first are a bunch of streets without names. I have tried to let the street names appear by themselves, but I find I have to zoom in and then zoom back out.

When I navigate to home, most times the car parks facing south. Now when I start a new trip it starts south but sometimes I want to start north.

How can I turn the car around (to face north) before I start my new trip?

I am using this work around at present (before I actually start). Start off and go a short distance, stop, then go back home so the car will face north.
