I just got a new Nuvi for me, and am giving the spouse my old one... Is there a way to transfer my favorites easily?

There are way to do it. 1.

There are way to do it.

1. plug your old nuvi an copy the current.gpx to your pc. then unplug the old.
2. plug your new nuvi then copy the current.gpx to the new nuvi.

other way(if you have a mapsource.
1. there is a function in the mapsource to download your favorites. save it as favorite.??? do this while the old nuvi is plug in.

2. plug the new nuvi and using the mapsource do the send function.

Use MapSource

Here's how to do it using MapSource:
1. Connect the Nuvi to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Start MapSource, and choose "Transfer", "Receive from device", "Waypoints". This copies all your favorites into MapSource.
3. Disconnect the Nuvi. Now, connect Nuvi #2 to the USB cable.
4. From MapSource choose "Transfer", "Send to device", "Waypoints". This loads the list of favorites into the second Nuvi.

Very simple, and reason enough to get yourself a copy of MapSource.

The Nüvi 3xx series does something strange with its Favourites - it stores any address information in the <cmt> fields, rather than in the <address> fields that most other units use. So expect this information to 'disappear' from each entry.
The Name, Coordinates,Phone number and (possibly) Symbol should survive intact.

Use MapSource

Connect your GPS and "receive from device" your Waypoints.

This is the opportunity to fix the names and symbols.

Then do File, Save As, then enter file name (such as Nuvi Waypoints) on your local hard drive.

Connect your second GPS and "Send to Device" the waypoints. You can delete the existing waypoint or replace with saved file.

This does not work for

This does not work for me.
When I transfer the file to my 750 it ask if I want to "replace existing file" - I say yes. When I remove the USB cable and my 750 boots up, my favorites are not there. When I plug the USB back in. The file is the original one ???? What's up with that???? - - I don't have Mapsource.
