Entering an address in Nuvi

When I enter an address to search for, it picks the first street it comes to that matches the spelling as I am entering the street name.

How do I enter the whole street name, to get to the real street I want?

thanks.

street name

One thing that works for me is to touch "search all cities" rather than naming the city Im looking for. This delays the intuitive response.

If you are saying that your street is not in the list of matching streets, something is wrong. I'd guess your street is really not in the city you've chosen, or you are misspelling the street. It shouldn't give you the FIRST street that matches, it should give you ALL the streets that match.

4965 Sandra Bay Dr Naples,

4965 Sandra Bay Dr
Naples, FL 34109

Street not found

Hi, everyone,

It's possible that the area or development (subdivision) that Sandra Bay Drive, Naples, FL is located in, hasn't been included in Nuvi's resident maps (City Nav) yet. The subdivision I live in didn't show up in Street Atlas until several years ago, but the development has existed since the early nineties. My son lives in a new development in PA. Neither the latest version of Street Atlas or Garmin City Nav 2008 show it.

Just a thought.

is this a new address

The reason it gets the first one because it is the only street that it find matches on the partial street you enter. for me it comes up as "sandringham gate"

Is this a new address?

i check with google

It looks like your buying a house smile. but anyway it looks like it is a new development and address will not be in the maps yet.

It will take a while before it gets added.

.

Since it looks like that development was built in 2004, I'm wondering if perhaps it's a private street. Some private streets are not shown in the map data.

Could it be 4965 Emerald Lakes Dr.?
By entering the address in GPS Visualizer I got lat/long
26.240346,-81.767818,"4965 Sandra Bay Dr Naples, FL 34109"
Plugging those coordinates in MapSource it shows Emerald Lakes Dr.
Is that the old name for Sandra Bay?

I have a related question:

I have a related question: When I enter the name of the town, it often gives me two choices: 'Brookline' or 'Brookline Twn.' What is (and why) the difference?

Hope we don't get yelled at

Hope we don't get yelled at for going too far off the OP's question, but I believe the official name of the city is "Town of Brookline". You will find they are the same location. At first, I thought it might be Brookline Township, which appears to be a compilation of North, South, and West Brookline, but I believe Township is abbreviated Tp.
