Garmin talk

I have a Nuvi 650 and I am having issues. Does anyone know why my Garmin would have me take a right off a rd I am traveling, just to make a u-turn and get right back on the road. I have also been having major problems with my Garmin being off. I will be getting close to a destination, and it will tell me it is on the right, but I will then look left and see where I was trying to go.

I was at Sam's Club in Vacaville, CA today and they are selling the Garmin Nuvi 750 for $427.99. Not a bad deal or so I thought.

I have a "new" c340...couldn't pass up a brand new, warranteed unit with friction base and window mount for $150.

While I'd like to pre-plan trips on the pc and transfer to my c340, tech suppport says no on the c340.

Q #1. However, is there any way to string multiple waypoints together, or am I forced to select as I progress?

Hello, Im new to the poi world and to gps's as a matter of fact. I have a Nuvi 350, and have downloaded poi's from this web site on to a SD memory card via POI loader from garmin. I can view the POI's on my garmin thru Where to> My locations> custom poi. When Im driving, and I know the location of a Starbucks for example it does not come up on the screne nor do i get an icon.

Yesterday my Nuvi 660 had a problem. A short time after leaving home my Nuvi 660 had a problem accessing the satellites. I would receive a message poor satellite reception then it would not connect. After waiting about one hour I would try it again and sometimes it would connect and other times it would not. Finally it stopped connecting all together.

I had the power supply for my Nuvi 360 "hard wired" into my car so I wouldn't have the cord draping over the dash when we are on vacation.

Soon, I am going to fly to Las Vegas for a trip into Utah and Death Valley, in addition to seeing the Vegas sites. I am going to rent a car, and I'm taking my Nuvi.

I have a nuvi 200 and I downloaded and installed the school zones "west" file. I works great except for one school. For the longest time, I couldn't get the alert to work when passing the school and I have the coordinates on the road directly in front of the school. Now, the alert goes off, but it only sounds for about a second and a half, as does the red banner announcing the school zone.

I am considering adding an fm transmitter to my nuvi 360. If I do will I have to keep my radio tuned to an empty fm channel at all times or can I listen to other channels?

I was channel surfing last night and came across the Home Shopping Network selling the Nuvi 750 for $299 ... just a heads up if anyone is interested... the cheapest price I found on the web price comparison sites was $382. HSN must have struck a deal ... Previous posts said HSN was sold out, but they appear to have more.

I've read on here about the diganostic page that's available on the c330 by touching the right upper corner of the screen for 5 seconds, but it will not work for me. Does the unit have to be in the car? It is currently connected to the computer.

Is there a trick that I'm missing? I've even tried warming my hands first...

I hope this makes sense. I just picked up a Garmin 750. I figured out how to load in custom POI's, so that is not a problem.

I want to setup a custom route, a "point a to point b" type of thing. Problme is, it's using back roads so the GPS needs checkpoints along the way to stay on the "fun roads". Otherwise it's going to direct us to the main highway not far away.

I haven't found the need to use it yet, but wondering if one has to actually punch a hole thru' the label on the back of the Nuvi to reset it? Or is the label flexible and one can actually click on the button thru' the label?

Does anyone know the best way to get album art onto the Nuvi 360?

I am using MS Media Player to transfer songs to the SD card, but I don't get the album art with it...

Is there some kind of program or utility that allows you to compare two POI files of the same name or category to see if there has been any changes or updates.

For instance, if I have two different Walmart POI files, can I compare both of them to see if there are any differences between the two i.e. updates, different long and lat coordinates, etc.

my car speedometer and my garmin speedometer are diffecurent. which one is more accurate?

I received my MSN Direct Receiver in perfect order, connected to their site and activated the unit. After a little while some information had been downloaded to my GPS and was accessible as expected.

OK so I got this Nuvi 780 yesterday, upgraded from a C340 which was really great but is dated. I purchase this from www.techonweb.com for about $712.00 with fedex 2nd day shipping. The item came with everything sealed and turn it on, wow! a beautiful 4.3 inch screen bright! It was a big jump from the dated c340. I turn it on and went to my car, signal was detected in about 2 minutes!

Does anyone know how to create a tourguide using mapsource? I am looking to be able to display text like the way Garmin tour guides show descriptions, phones numbers, dates, times etc...of different places/restaurants etc... I was told this could be done in Mapsource but can't seem to find any information about it. Has anyone been able to create viewable text and if so can you post how?

I have a Magellan POI file. I would like to transfer this POI data into a recognize Garmin format like .CSV or Garmin's POI. Is this possible? If so, anyone can provide your expertise? Thank you!
