Tracking anomaly?

Strangest thing happened to me last night. I went to my local Home Depot, and used the same Home Depot POI file that I always use. Normally, I get routed there with no problem. However, last night, the POI was off NE by a good quarter mile. I thought something was strange about the directions but assumed (yeah, I know) that my Nuvi was giving me a more efficient route to try. Once I realized that the POI was off and I was getting myself lost, I wound up having to - gasp - figure out how to get there on my own!
It only occurred to me now that I should have checked to see how many satellites I was tracking, as maybe my accuracy was low--oh well. Anybody else ever had this happen? Ideas?
It isn't the reception,
It isn't the reception, cause it wouldn't be off that much. But I can't explain why it wouldn't be off one night and off the next.

maybe the Navy shot down the wrong satellite...
or maybe the lunar eclipse temporarily cast a spell on the satellites
Hey now
maybe the Navy shot down the wrong satellite...
Don't be slamming my Navy. They did it right.

POI File corrupted/changed
Make sure you haven't inadvertantly changed you POI file.
The only other thing that springs to mind is a solar flare.

even with solar flares, i
even with solar flares, i wouldn't think it would be THAT far off.

Only possiblility...
... I can think of is that maybe he didn't get full acquisition before he hit the road. My numvi 260 sometimes gets 3 green bars, but it still only puts me "somewhere" in my neighborhood... can be 4 or 5 blocks off until it gets the signals sorted out. Even when that happens it still gets it figured out in an extra minute or so.
I'm thinking that if it calculated the route while it was still unsettled, the route may still be wrong even after the vehicle location is correct??? Or would it recalculate it?
