HI, I have a couple questions for ya.

When downloading files to my NUVI 770, is it better to download them to a folder on my SD card or on the NUVI itself?

I have no idea how much room there is for storage on the NUVI.

I am guessing that it would be a faster search if it is on the NUVI, is that true?

One more question, sorry, I know these darn rookies....

I know that this questions has been posed before. However, the latest update for the Nuvi 350 does not look like it offer much of an advantage to updating. I gave my wife the 350 with the previous update and it works great. What is this lastest update going to offer? I hate to screw up a unit that has not had any problems. Would appreciate your input.

I had success recently creating a cupholder adapter for my 760. It utilizes the Garmin suction base and suction mount.

So I am told about this site by a fellow "roadgeek," I sign up, I download a bunch of POIs of stores and restaurants I frequently patronize while traveling, I get the POI Loader software, I upload the POIs to a nice pristine 4 GB SD card comfortably resting in the card slot of my Nuvi 750...

Now what?

it is probably too early to ask this, but I will throw it out there anyway, and hope that it attracts response as experience and miles are gained, and the thread grows.

have any of you noticed if the new map upgrades have increased the number of Junction View screens, and 3D Building views?

I am a newbie and love this site! Thank you for creating it. I am looking at the files in my Nuvi 770 and there seems to be quite a few files that say 'sample'. Are they just taking up space? Should I delete them?

LOVE THIS SITE... I've downloaded a couple campground files and it works great; however, the files are just randomly placed in the Garmin Custom POI's Screen. I've sorted them by alphabetical order on the computer but the Garmin still just lists them willie-nilly... is there anyway to make them list in order: ie: Colorado Campgrounds, Kansas Campgrounds, Texas Campgrounds????

I hit the where to button on GPS and the unit just went blank, had to restart! never happened before!

I have a Garmin 680 with Bluetooth-- I sent a confidential text message through the 680 to someone-- now I want to delete it. Anyone know the file name or how to delete text messages in the NUVI?

Text messages are not stored in the phone when sent via the NUVI.

is this and update to the City Navigator® North America NT 2009 i have the 2009 maps so is the 2009.1 an update ????????

nuvi 5000 and nuvi 200w

A few hours ago I logged into My Garmin and it showed both lifetime maps available and a one time update.

Now it only shows a one time update. The lifetime maps option seems to have disappeared.

Do any of you see an option for lifetime updates?

i got a traffic reciever for my 255w,i like it and it works great but the only thing i dont like is that if it is idle for a while or when you goto the traffic screen there are advertisements for certain places,is there a way to delete them so i dont have to seem them or do i have to put up with them,i know how to get into the nuvi thru my computer,and i have backed upmy nuvi,so i dont erase the w

I see there is a new update for the 680 MSN available. Just did mine.

my 760 connected to the online webupdater this morning and i found an MSN update. i use FM TX only but i said - what the hell and updated. My nuvi restarted fine, i switched it off, got to my car and poof - blank screen on the next startup. no light or anything, no signal to the FM RX -- NOTHING. connected to the PC - nothing.

We just returned from a brief trip to New Orleans. The Garmin got us there and back with no problems what so ever. It took us directly to the French Quarter and found the restaurant we wanted. Good for you Mr. Garmin
