Custom POI's with MP3 alerts

I am a long time user of GPS systems but new to Garmin. Just bought a 755T and found this site when checking into POI's. I have used MapSource to create speed zone and school zone warnings.I have download some BMP and MP3 files from this site.

I am having one problem, the Prox alerts work, get the warning on the screen with the default beep and I can see the BMP that was attached but the MP3 alert does not play.

I guess that my first question would be does the 755T support this? I cannot find a place that allows me to turn on custom alerts only y single or continuous.

Any unit that plays mp3 files should play the alert and I'm sure the entire 7xx series is capable of playing mp3's. 9 times out of 10 this problem is traced to either not having the mp3 filename EXACTLY the same as the POI file (except for extension), or having a double extension. Make sure the files are in the same folder when you run POI Loader to load the file.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

MP3

According to the Garmin spec, the 755T does have an mp3 player, so following bentbiker's instructions, especially regarding the file naming precautions, will work on that model.

TO all that responded thank you this did the job and it works great. I am looking forward to participating in your projects. I travel all over the upper Midwest, WI, MN, IA, NE, SD, ND and the UP so hopefully I can give back to this group
