Bought the 760 about 3 weeks ago, but now I can get a 780 for the same price.... Is it worth returning the 760 for the 780?

ok, i have a question, i have the 765T, i have noticed that some of my poi icons are odd, color, i know i have to change them over to 256 color, but, i have a ton of them, so is there a fast easy way to do this? or can i just have the csv files with out the icons?! and how would the unit react to no icon( would it place a dot)

thanks in advance for any help/insight you can give on this question. I have a nuvi 350 and am a commercial truck driver. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any maps for the nuvi that would work to keep me off of roads and bridges that I shouldn't be on? I have heard of other GPS brands that offer these units, but they are not a known company.

As I was driving near Springfield, Illinois... My Garmin told me I was doing 43 miles per hour for a few miles when I was clearly doing 74. I set the cruise control based upon the GPS 71 MPH. (GPS 71mph = Speedo 74 on this trip, in this car).

Can anyone recommend a screen protector for a 4.3 Garmin. I have heard that the Invisishield from Zagg is very good, but I do not know if it can be easily removed. Some of the others appear to be difficult to apply to the screen without leaving air bubbles. I want to protect the lcd screen from scratches without loosing clarity. I would appreciate any recommendations

I had seen on a previous post sofware for chaging what the garmin says like "recaculating" to something different and correcting other speech problems but I cannot seem to locate that post again, could someone please send me a link to it?

Does anyone know what order files get sorted? I mean the actual files, not POIs. When I look at the vehicles, they seem to be in the order I put the file on the unti. When I look at my custom POI files in Extras, they also seem to be newest at the end of the list. Is there a way to control this? (ha) If this is already covered, please point me in the right direction.

I'm looking to load Topo maps on my Nuvi 260. Has anyone any experience with the Garmin maps? Are there better packages to load than the Garmin?

Does anyone know if it can be done? I know that earlier on, I did an update that could not be rolled back.

Since some have stuttering issues and others do not, I'd like to give it a try with the provision that I can restore the currently installed version.

im leaning to the nuvi 765t (any objections?) i was wondering if any of you would know a better price alternative (TRUSTED!) that amazon puts out? all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I have lost the mounting cradle for my Nuvi 350. I have read the posts here with suggestions on how to get a replacement. I contacted Garmin and the cradle costs $10.95. Not a problem until I told them that I lived in Canada and the shipping would run me another $40.00! Sometimes I wish I was living south 0f the "49th" with my American friends to save a few bucks!

when i plug my nuvi250w in my car the gps shows that i'm pluged into a pc. i tried the reset it still doing the same thing, i use the car power cord with a power pack and same thing again could is there an other way to make a factory hard reset so it would return to the original out of the box setting.Is there anyone who as a backup file,i didn't make one before i update it. thanks in advanced.

Whenever i tell my 205w to take me home, it'll do so on a specific roads, even if i choose divert, despite i know a better shortcut.Is there any way to specify the way i want my garmin to take me to my target?

Sure would be nice to see diesel prices along with gas prices with MSN. I see Tom Tom has that feature, unless it is only overseas. I left some feedback for MSN, but probably a usless effort. Any thoughts?

I just installed the new maps update from the cd 2009 in to mi garmin 660 and sad I found out hi didnt fix any of the road problem what was not in my garmin before install the maps is not ther after install the updated maps.Soon after I installed the up date my garmin started to frize wen plain the MP3 files.
Any body can help on this?

Does anyone know if Garmin monitors the POI Factory website? If not, it should as it is an excellent source of Garmin user feedback as to satisfaction or dissatisfaction with Garmin gps units. Also, a good source of suggestions for improvement. The Garmin blog promotes its products but does not discuss problems or fixes. This website educates Garmin gps users. Keep it up.

I have registered the unit with Garmin. I previously had the (lack of voice prompt issues) (figured it out) but I still don't get the traffic icon (2 green cars onscreen). If I have the unit connected to the car cigarette lighter cable and then I search under tools for the traffic option, it says go to garmin.com/fmtraffic and register my code????

I went on Garmin.com today to register my nuvi. During the registration it tried to update. It said to unplug from computer, what until it went back to where to screen the plug back in.
WELL IT NEVER DID. IT'S STUCK ON "LOADER LOADING..." WITH GARMIN SCREEN.

It won't turn off or respond to anything.

PLEASE HELP!!!

I need to replace my battery in the 750 nuvi. Rather than ship the whole unit to garmin, and paying the high price, I can get the battery online. But, anyone know how to open the 750 unit?

Hey Folks!

I was uploading some new POI files to my Nuvi 350 and it turns out that I accidently deleted all the pre loaded POI files, IE the ones that came shipped on the unit. Any idea how to get them back? I dont have access to the CD's that came with the unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
