HELP! (cradle for nuvi 350 in Canada)

I have lost the mounting cradle for my Nuvi 350. I have read the posts here with suggestions on how to get a replacement. I contacted Garmin and the cradle costs $10.95. Not a problem until I told them that I lived in Canada and the shipping would run me another $40.00! Sometimes I wish I was living south 0f the "49th" with my American friends to save a few bucks! Does anyone have any other possible suggestions? Thanks

Part Number

If you have the part number, do a search in amazon or ebay. Not all the vendors rip you off, and some are "north of the border" and will probably be cheaper on shipping.

Let us know if you need more info.

I would call them back and make sure that is correct! Did they assume you wanted some kind of expedited shipping speed?

Canada adds a Value Added Tax or some other such import Tariff to stuff shipped to Canada from the US.

help

I second the notion to try ebay.

I would think you could find a seller in Canada.

goodluck, that's

goodluck, that's outrageous.

Definitely give Ebay or some online store a try.

$40 for shipping, I am expecting it the moment I hit submit.

Shipping for $15...

According to their shipping page (http://www.gpscentral.ca/shipping.html) ground shipping in Canada (2-8 days) is $15.00. At $29.95 they're a little pricey on the mount compared to the US, but the total is lower and, I assume, in Canadian dollars.

$40.00 bucks for shipping is

$40.00 bucks for shipping is a rip off. You could try GPSCity. They have a US and Canadian site. Here is a mounting cradle from their Canadian site. I did not check the cost of shipping though.

By the way, I've never bought anything from them so I can't tell you much about them. You can also order by phone if you want, or just ask them questions.

If this doesn't sound good to you, you could try to have a friend in the US order it for you and then send it to you from their location. I"m betting that would still be cheaper than paying $40 for shipping.

Hope this helps.

Ship from U.S.

If all else fails, I can buy it here in the states and ship it to you, my email is Lostn6tz@cox.net. Be more then happy to help out.

I would recommend you to

I would recommend you to check The Source stores in Canada. I have seen some Garmin mount very cheap at Soruce stores when I was looking one for my C330.

Finally, I called Garmin and they sent me free of charge but I had to pay $23 when the package arrived. Still not bad because the mount everywhere else was $50.
